READING.. Reading Speaking Writing Vocabulary week 49 6. Task: You are going to pick a book to read for the next 6 weeks. Make sure you choose a book that is a a bit of a challenge to you, one not too easy. Every Thursday/Friday you will answer a reading log both orally and written. When you ve finished reading your book you are to present it to your classmates who have read other books. This you can do in various ways, here are some options for you to choose from: Make a movie/animation/drama perhaps with Powtoon in Google Drive? Make a powerpoint presentation perhaps record it with Screencast O Matic? Write a traditional book review perhaps with a pic and a QR code? You read the text? Make an oral presentation in front of your class or film it and show the film. These are only suggestions your imagination is the only limit! 1

Write a short summary of what happened so far (max 50 words) Reading Log 2, week 50 Speaking: First copy this sentence: I have read until page for today. Then talk to your friend about the following: 1. Choose one or two characters to describe: Ask yourself these questions: Who is/are the character(s) you re describing? Main character? Minor character? What do you think about his or her personality and why? 2. Describe what the person means to the novel and how she/he has been acting up until the point you ve read. How do these actions make you feel? Try to describe them as carefully and detailed as possible and give examples from the novel. 3. How is she/he important to the plot? Can you identify with anyone of them? In what way are they different from you? 3
Reading Log 3, week 3 Writing: First copy this sentence: I have read until page for today. Then write in your log about the following: 1. Choose a quote from the book that you think is interesting, funny, irritating Copy it and explain why you chose it. What happened before and after this quote? 2. What do you think of the author s descriptions of the environment? Are they too long, too few, beautiful, realistic...? The environment is not only the landscape, it can also be feelings or the spirit of the book. Give examples! 3. What do you think about the story so far? Why? Give examples and use at least one quote from the book! Reading Log 4, week 4 Speaking: First copy this sentence: I have read until page for today. Then talk to your friend about the following: In almost every novel there is som kind of conflict. Sometimes it is between two or more people (external) and sometimes the conflict is within a person (internal) Try to find examples of both these kinds of conflicts. The character might, for example, be struggling with another character; that would be an external conflict. Or the character might be struggling with him or herself over something he/she has done that he/she knows was wrong. Describe these conflicts. Give examples from the book and use at least on quote to show your classmates what those conflicts are. 4
