Subject comment BL HÖST TERM 2015 This term in Art, Year 7 have been working on Drawing Unit. We have worked with right-brain drawing techniques to try and encourage creativity in drawing and drawn a still life composition, looking at techniques of breaking down objects into basic shapes and positive and negative spaces. We then added tone with shading. Students then moved on to one and two point perspective drawing and worked on an architectural two point perspective of a city block as their assessment piece.they have completed their first assessment drawing a city scene using the two point perspective techniques. As indicated by the knowledge requirements above, the work you have produced so far has shown evidence of C grade quality. This builds on and includes work from previous terms, and may change as new topics and skills are covered as we progress through the course. It shall also change when your perspective assessment is handed in to be marked. In order to improve you need to use the rules of perspective drawing with more accuracy. Make sure you use vertical lines where buildings/features are perpendicular to ground level. Check you are using vanishing points correctly where appropriate. Sharpen your drawing by drawing all straight lines with a sharp pencil and ruler.
