learn. Wasn t good at explaining and did not listen properly to the students questions, had a bad attitude towards the class and was a bit cocky. not nice Inte så engagerad och hade ont om tid att hjälpa till och förklara. Förklarar på ett väldigt komplicerat sätt och får en tyvärr att känna sig "dum/korkad". Ingen bra attityd gentemot studenterna. 11.2.1. He really tried to make the students understand and was helpful, he had a better attitude which contributed to the good ambiance in the class when he was holding the lectrure. not available pedagogiska lektioner, men hade lite ont om tid för att hjälpa/förklara. 13. Comments Antal svar på frågan: 6 The computer labs felt a bit unnecessary, as they were a lot easier than the exercises. I had very little contact with the teachers personally. Actually I only attended the mandatory parts of the course and nothing else. Skip them. Working with R is something that most of us is never going to do. It is better to focus on how we can use our data from for instance qpcr which is something that many of us at some point will recieve. T test and p value for instance will be calcutlated directly in excel so it would be nice to know the backround of that ofcourse and bsically what is happening with data we recieved from experiments. But since we are not going to work with epidemiology (most of us) it is kind of stupid to use such examples. Use examples that apply to our program instead, for instance related to previous labs we have had. Datorlabbarna var onödiga och opedagogiska. Satt mest och klickade runt och förstod inte vad man gjorde. Lärarna under labbarna kunde inte heller förklara utan visade mest vilken ikon man skulle trycka på. Technical problems (Internet, battery). Not interesting and not always relevant. Den mesta av tiden gick åt till att försöka förstå datorprogrammet vilket inte alltid var så lätt. Lärarkapaciteten räckte inte heller till riktigt då man var tvungen att be om hjälp nästan hela tiden. 14. What were the strengths of the course? (give the three most important) The assistants were very helpful! Coffee in the breaks was nice! Overall good lectures. Short, basic and not to hard. Good lectures/lecturers. Exercises could be done in presence of teachers so you could ask questions. Exercises The exericises, Arvid Sjölander and Caroline Dietrich The main strengh of this course is that this is in fact really basic and not difficult to comprehend. But you have made it a lot more difficult than it is. Bra att Caroline ställde upp så mycket och förklarade, utan henne hade det aldrig gått! Bra med räkneexempel inlagda i Arvids föreläsningar, hjälpte en att förstå bättre. 1. Pedagogic teachers 2. Easy-to-follow handouts 3. Exercise handouts Väldigt bra med övningsuppgifter. Arvid är en väldigt bra pedagog och bra på att lära ut! Jag gillade faktiskt den här kursen ända fram till tentan, då brast allt. 15. 16. What were the weaknesses of the course? (give the three most important) Alexander Ploner was not very enthusiastic. Not enough time to do all the recommended exercises. Not enough time on the exam. Much info on short time, a lot of different formulas and confusing computer labs. Computer labs could be more clear. Not enough time to prepare for the exam Not enough time during the exam The computerlabs, Alexander ploner Alex Ploner unpleasant atomsphere - Bra att vi fick ett häfte med övningsuppgifter, dock var dessa ganska svåra och formlerna som stod i facit stämde inte överrens med formlerna och beteckningarna som vi hade gått igenom på lektionerna. - Mycket dåligt att det inte fanns facit till "övningstentorna". Har ju ingen aning om man är på rätt väg då... - Dåligt med tid på tentan. - Jättedåligt att sista frågestunden ställdes in utan att fixa någon ersättare. 1. Data labs 2. Better consistency between exercises and lectures (for example when using symbols) 3. More time for writing exam since it was stressful (fifteen minutes extra?) TENTAN!!! Jag KRÄVER att ni förlänger tentatiden med en halvtimme! DET ÄR EN ORDER! Som det blev nu så vet jag att jag kunde all teori till tentan, men p.g.a. tidsbrist så fick jag stressa igenom hela tentan vilket ledde till en hel del slarvfel och att jag inte hann med att göra alla uppgifter ordentligt. Jag VET att jag hade fått mycket bättre betyg på den här tentan om jag haft lite längre tid att göra alla uppgifterna ordentligt. Det är lika bra att du inser att det faktiskt TAR TID att svara på alla frågorna och redovisa dem på ett förståeligt sätt! Den här tentan var utan konkurrens den värsta tentan som jag någonsin har gjort! Fattar du inte att man inte kan koncentrera sig när man sitter med skyhög puls i tre hela timmar?! Visst, jag är väldigt glad över att jag klarade tentan över huvud taget, men jag har aldrig fått så dåligt resultat som på den här kursen, TROTS att jag faktiskt hade pluggat och kunde teorin som rinnande vatten! 17. Any suggestions for how to improve the course? Antal svar på frågan: 6 More time on the exam! Less computerexercises, take the time over to work more with the recommended exercises. If it is possible, a refill of the milk can once in a while, cause it emptied very quickly in the coffe breaks. More time to prepare and much more time during the exam. I passed the exam but I think I would have managed better had we been given more time during the exam. Decide on what signs and letters to use, dont use different signs during different lectures. One lecturer used one and the other one used another sign for the same thing, this was very unnecessary and confusing. The same goes
for the whole exercise booklet be consistent use only one type of sign throughout the course. take away ploner, he should not deal with students at this level. - Dela ut ett häfte med "G-uppgifter" (lätta uppgifter) för varje avsnitt så att man kan börja med dom innan man fortsätter med de svårare uppgifterna. Gör dessutom om facit till uppgifterna så att formlerna stämmer överrens med de från lektionerna. - Lägg ut facit på övningstentorna. - Ta bort datalabbarna och lägg in mer räknetimmar. Hann nästan aldrig göra dom rekommenderade uppgifterna på den utsatta tiden. - Dela ut Alexander Ploners sista föreläsning (den som talar om när man använder vilket test) i början på kursen. Hade verkligen underlättat. Se fråga 16! (And don't tell me you don't read Swedish!)
