Urban Recycling Task I have compared the LTH campus area with downtown Lund, trying to find ways to bring the qualities from the inner city to the campus area. We are all wondering why the campus area is not used during, evenings, weekends and the summer. I think it has to do with the structure of the area. You never know if a street is a ded end, a carpark or a main entrance to something important. Downtown the streets are always defined and with clear directions. And you know they will lead somewhere so you dare to explore. The blocks are closed, to create the contrast of busy street versus quiet inner courtyards. The parks are cleaned to make space for student events and sun bathing. Time 12/10 2015-7/12 2015 15 working days 2

The big park in the middle of the campus should function just like Lundagård. A meetingplace, a place for big events. Less trees and less brush. The park between Ekologihuset and Biologihuset could help to show what is going on inside those buildings. A botanical garden. Do a rainwater pond need to be hidden in brush, like the ones on campus today? Or can it be highlighted as a place to hang out? Instead of ground parking, the campus will have a number of parking houses. They should have public ground floors. Like this parking house in Malmö. 6 The cafés are no longer hidden inside the buildings but exposed to the street. To benefit the students, who can find a café more easily, to benefit the public who now can find the cafés at all, and to benefit the cafés themselves. Of course a visible café gets more guests than a hidden one.

Bachelor Project Task Helsingborg is a town in southern Sweden, close to Denmark. The inner city is located just above sea level, along the coast. The border to the inland is a long steep slope, called Landborgen, also following the coastline. Above the slope the city continues. A big problem in the city is how to connect these two parts of the city. How to make it possible for the inhabitants to move easily and safe up and down. The slope is today to a large extent unbuild, and from the top you have an excellent view of the sea and Denmark. How to improve Landborgen? I found four key aspects that i chose to work with in my bachelor project, Rosaslänten. Read more in the next pages. Time 04 2015-06 2015 Sea Down town The site Suburb 10

Possible to pass Rosaslänten is a building with businesses in the ground floor and residential floors above. Instead of internal stairwells it has external stairs connecting corridorbalconies The stairs are open for the public to make it possible for the people in Helsingborg to move up and down the Landborgen in new ways. Rosenträdgården is no longer a ded end. A totally new street, Rosagatan, connects Himmelriksgränden and Billeplatsen.??? 12 Sydfasad/Snitt genom Rosagatan 1:250
13
Safety? Today Himmelriksgränden is a long, narrow passage, framed by closed facads, and ends by becoming narrow paths through dark forest. By making a new square where Rosagatan meets Himmelriksgränden, people are encouraged to remain on the site, and not only transport themselves througt it as fast as possible. Rosaslänten has businesses and housing facing Himmelriksgränden, which makes people present around the clock. 14 Östfasad/Snitt genom Himmelriksgränd 1:250
15
Acessability Where Rosagatan meets Billeplatsen there is a glass elevator connecting the corridor-balconies, that is also public. And free. As a contrast to the elevator in Terasstrapporna, this one is light and not claustrophobic. For the first time now even disabled people, old people and strollers can move between Billeplatsen and Rosenträdgården.???? 16 Västfasad/Snitt genom Hallbergs trappor 1:250
17
View Enjoying the view from Rosenträdgården is today something you must actively choose. Because Rosenträdgården is a ded end you have to walk to the edge, enjoy, and then return exactly the same way. Rosaslänten makes it possible for people to enjoy the view on a daily basis, moving up and down Landborgen on their way to school or work. And also for many people to enjoy the view in the same time, standing in front of eachother, but on different levels.???? 18 Nordfasad/Snitt genom Rosenträdgården 1:250

Compact living Task To design a home with as few cubic meters as possible but with high architectural qualities. No standrad kitchens nor standard beds. Explore what a human really needs. But also keep in mind that this should be a permanent residence, so the standard should be better than just keeping a human alive. The context is undecided and the home may be mobile or possible to attach to other buildings. Time 28/01 2014-28/02 2014 17 working days 30

Varför svänger våra dörrar alltid utåt i rummet?
