Inspired by the previous summer course in interaction design. Identified or planned changes for the next course event Several. Given that it was a new course there is a lot of room for modifications. These have not yet been analyzed, but such a discussion is planned. Teachers comments (on e.g. student s prerequisites, own and student s effort, course planning, administration, examination, attendance, communication with students, tools used) Students were very skilled and active. They became good at delivering things with short notice, which was one of the course goals. Some exercises (e.g. first Joomla assignment) were not handed in at the appropriate time. Changes that I could see for the future: Make better use of the course book and perhaps find a different course book for the future. The unconventional exam form was very successful. Students performed impressingly well and were also happy with the results. More group work could be planned for. This year most things were done individually. Next year we could perhaps plan the course better, this year it was mainly done from one week to another. Need to plan it together with the preceding user interface design course given by Else With basically the same content, give a better feeling for the red thread through the course Possibly more of practical excercises spread over the course, and connected to the lecture content. Especially the first exercise lecture (with clay modeling) could be developed further, e.g., by connecting with the basic principles of simplicity. The portfolio design part of the exercises needs to be introduced more thoroughly, so that the purpose of the exercise is clear from the beginning.

The exam part is a little complexity 1 Maybe more formal and some more complicated tasks. A higher pressure of handing in things in time for those lazy ones. 2 Be more advanced as the name of the course state. 3 The course could be improved if students had to write more papers and write more about different subjects. The examination for instance was a big surprise, because we did not learn how to apply the knowledge we learned. 4 En koppling mellan de olika föreläsningar, nu känns dom som egna kurser, dvs det saknas en röd tråd. Något längre tid på sig att göra uppgfiterna, blir svårt att planera sin tid när det är så knappt med tid. 5 More about designprinciples and actual methodes 7 More exercises that are harder. Nästan en uppgift i veckan är mycket att göra men de iofs ganska små men ändå :) 5 Most of the things in the course has been done before 7 Too few exercises! The ones we got were fairly simple and it was easy to get a high grade. 8 Normal amount 10 Lots of work 11 Kändes märkligt att ha både löpande utvärdering och en hyfsat krävande examensdag med upprepning av tidigare uppgifter. I förhållande till andra lika stora kurser var arbetsbelastningen mycket högre. Detta även på grund av att stora delar av arbetet dök up först i slutet av kursen. 12 Every week we have a assignment to do, and each assignment is focusing on different aspects.it is really good. 13 The assignments are ok, and could be a litter harder. Lars and Jan have the knowledge and have the experience to explain the sometimes complicated subjects. Elina, is a new fresh teacher, which is good in what she does! 4 Lärarna är mycket kompetenta och duktiga i sitt ämne samt väldigt engagerade i kursen, det har varit lätt att få tag i dom. Dessutom kom flera utifrån och undervisade, en från london och en från ett företag, det är riktigt motiverande att se hur det fungerar i praktiken. 5 Somewhat unstructured lectures 7 I found the lectures a bit unstructured sometimes, but I found them inspiring and interesting. 8 Good teachers but sometimes there was a lack of organization. For example the instructions for the examination day came the day before the actual examination. 9 They where okej 10 Stort engagemang, men mycket ojämn förväntan av vår arbetsinsats. Över lag svårt att få kontakt med lärare över mejl. mean different thing specially for someone who couldnt attend the lecture. 3 Very clear, everything was in the schedule 4 Slides från föreläsningen kom upp snabbt på studentportalen. Kursboken kändes något onödig och mest som en inspirationsbok för fortsatt arbete i området. 5 The book and articles are fun, but not much more 7 Well, we didn't work with so much course material, right? Studentportalen is crappy, but what can one do? 8 Interesting reading. The book could have been used more. It seems interesting! 9 Bad, only slides. Valuable information in them 10 Ostrukturerat, ibland direkt felaktigt och en hemsida under all kritik. 12 The course material is quite fruitfull and it contains much usefull information. 13 Vi har aldrig använt kursboken, kunde ju varit trevligt. Studentportalen har funkat bra. 14 The slides are good, but the teachers could have talked something about the textbook or guide us how to get some interesting reading. 15

For example, the ticket machines would have been nice to redesign. 2 It okay. 3 Was good! 4 Lokaler fungerade bra och det var inget strul med kursen. Lite mer tid för uppgifter vore bra men det fungerade rätt så bra ändå. 5 Does not seem to be much planning behind the lectures 7 Towards the end I realised that I would have wanted the following in the beginning: * Clear information about all upcoming assignments and their grading * Information about what the exam is going to be like. This is a test and in order to train for it, I really need to know how I'm going to be evaluated. 8 bad, not very well-planned 10 Bättre struktur! Mer uppgifter tidigare i kursen, under de första veckorna var man näst intill sysslolös. 12 The course make us have many exercise and we practice like a designer. 13 Kunde varit bättre planerad. We needn't to do 4 parts,i think. We can just take 1 or 2 parts as the assignments. 1 The exam was both fun and stress, i found the questions very open not very specific. 3 The examination was very good. I liked the method a lot, which forced the students to show their capabilities in a very short amount of time! Bravo! 4 Ett stort plus för det innovativa examinationsformen, kul att få aktivt göra olika uppgifter på olika tider under dagen. Däremot kom informationen om hur examinationsdagen skulle gå till väldigt sent och det var svårt att veta hur man skulle förbereda sig förrän info kommit. Bra att ha många mindre uppgifter att göra istället för nån jättestor eller så. 5 I don't know yet, the assignments where good but the exam was strange, with the materials given it was hard to really give solid explenations of why you've done as you've done 7 I found myself to be badly prepared for the examination. I believe that the exercises we got earlier in the course were far to easy. The most prominent example of said problem is the design task: I found none of the exercises particulary relevant and the time constraint was completely new to me. 8 As I said before. More feedback on the assignments. 9 somehow a bit tough and pressured with one day exam 11 Kontinuerlig utvärdering är toppen. Men det kanske bör avspeglas på den avslutande utvärderingen också. Ojämn arbetsbelastning på de olika uppgifterna.
