Social Science and Medicine

1990. Soi -meme comme an autre;, E. Mounier 1970 Personalism Källa: Lars-Eric Olsson Fil. Dr, GPCC
Process I tre steg - personcentrerad vård - GPCC 1.

Pär s Connection to Value
Motivationens historia och värde Bild adapterad från Julian Le Grand, Motivation, Agency and Public Policy: Of Knights and Knaves, Pawns and Queens.
How easy/difficult is it understanding the theory of Value Easy Difficult The theoretical background is easy to understand I had a period when I tried to go deeper into the value discussion, however it s a complex area and I had to back out before I drowned 28

Value-based care a strategic framework for better health care
Value in Healthcare Value = Health Outcomes / Costs
Steering towards best health outcomes fot the patient Patient s initial disease Structure Processes Patient Satisfaction Indicators Health Outcomes
Three types of Value Creation Fjelstad Value Chains Value Shops Value Networks
Value Chain
Characteristics of Value Chains Activities that create value Key attributes, properties Role of the Patient Resources and costs incurred! Series of linked processes transform inputs into outputs Stability, Predictability, Reliability, Automation Attempts made to orient toward patient centered care Less expensive model, taking waste out of the process using industrial improvement methods. Limits the resources needed
Benefits of Value Chains Benefit to the patient Well understood, heavily standardized sequence of steps, predictability, cost, potential of increased quality! Benefit to the provider Benefit to the system Efficiency in standardized predictable tratment Dramatically lower the cost of routine treatment
Value Shop Cancer Diagnostics
Characteristics of Value Shops Activities that create value Key attributes, properties Role of the Patient Resources and costs incurred Customized solution developed in response to specific customer/patient need Problem solving, Customizability Attempts made to orient toward patient centered care Most expensive model, providing one to one care! Mobilizes the resources that are needed
Benefits of Value Shop Benefit to the patient Benefit to the provider Able to deal with the complexity of co-morbidity, unique information and interventions that are relevant to the patient Ability to cope with unique situations, dynamics of dealing with unique situations Benefit to the system Can dramatically lower the cost by customizing the treatment!
Value Networks
Skaraborgsmodellen - Resultat
Skaraborgsmodellen
Characteristics of Value Networks! Activities that create value Key attributes, properties Role of the Patient Resources and costs incurred Facilitation of relationships between all nodes in the health care network. Connectivity and conductivity The patient is a coproducer of their care, where patients are involved in their own care. Less expensive model, putting patient in touch with resources Connects the resources Needed Enables patients and others to contribute (adding capacity)
Benefits of Value Networks Benefit to the patient Increases and enable resource availability for the patient Benefit to the provider Efficiency in fluid activity/resource situations. Increased resource mobilization More effective access to resources, knowledge and know how! Benefit to the system Both lower the overall resources consumed by reapportioning tasks to patients and others
