2 A eller An? A or An? Valet av a eller an beror på vilken bokstav som nästa ord börjar på. The choice of a or an depends on which letter the next word starts with. 3 Pluralformer 1 (regelbundna) Plurals 1 (regular) De flesta ord bildar plural med s, -es eller ies. Most words form the plural with s, -es or ies. -s För att bilda pluralform, lägg till ett s. To form the plural, add s. Singular a film a flat a plane a day Plural two films three flats four planes five days -os, -oes Några vanliga ord som slutar på o får pluraländelsen -oes. Some common words ending in o have the plural ending -oes. -s -es videos potatoes kangaroos tomatoes kilos mosquitoes (myggor) -es Om ordet redan slutar på s, -x eller sje - ljud, lägg till es, uttalat iz. If the word already ends in s, -x or a similar sound, add es, pronounced -iz. 5 Genitiv-s (Peter s book) The Genitive with s För att visa att någon äger eller har något läggs ett s efter ordet, liksom i svenskan. Men i engelskan sätts även en apostrof ( ) före s-et. (Gäller ord i singular) To show that someone owns or has something, add an s to the word, as in Swedish. But in English you also put an apostrophe ( ) before the s.
