Ideas are born in the clinic...
Academic Knowledge Centres (AKCs) Primary care centres with research assignments from the CPF At every AKC there is a research coach, a clinically active care provider (PhD) = AKC coordinator Mission: to build bridges between the academic world and the health care system
At the AKCs, health care professionals and students receive hands-on guidance in designing and implementing their research ideas This develops health care on the ground
10 AKCs in Skåne Lund Dalby Eslöv Landskrona Kristianstad CPF Helsingborg Perstorp Fågelbacken Malmö Sorgenfri Malmö Ystad
AKC coordinators areas of responsibility To support the research and development of care providers in primary care in Skåne To capture research-interested care providers in the whole of Skåne To inform all health care centres in their assigned catchment area about the CPF and the AKC network
The CPF and AKCs offer care providers help with: Starting up projects Applying for research funding Establishing contact networks Arranging seminars Qualitative research Biostatistics Medical epidemiology Scientific writing
The CPF and AKCs offer care providers help with: The supervision of PhD students and trainee medical specialists (ST-läkare), among others
Regional primary care database The aim is: To increase the quality of care high-quality data on illnesses, lifestyle and sick leave can be used to improve patient care and health To provide cost-effective, world-class primary health care to study at the primary care centre level treatment outcomes and health economics related to diagnoses, lifestyle, etc.
