Digital Twins Götaälvbron ÅF CONTRIBUTES WITH SIMULATION ENGINEERING Götaälvbron, a steel bridge with concrete deck, was built in Gothenburg 1939. Main part of the steel structure is a digital twin. The structure is represented by simulation models (FEM) and fed with real input data measured from it s physical counterpart. ÅF has, among other things, contributed with state of the art simulation engineering related to validation and calibration of the digital twins model. The result is a simulation model that predicts structural damage, remaining service life and optimize the usage of the bridge.
