THE MAKING OF A MODERN CLASSIC År 1893 startade Alfred Johansson en liten vävfabrik utanför Kinna i Västergötland. Två år senare kom elektriciteten till byn och den första skrivmaskinen inhandlades. I mitten av 1960-talet hade företaget uppnått ett gott rykte som en leverantör av tekniskt avancerade textilier av hög kvalitet. Företaget var den första frottétillverkaren i Skandinavien, såväl som den sista innan produktionen i Sverige tog sitt slut under 2008. Namnet Pellevävare härstammar från den smått legendariske entreprenören Per Almquist, som var verksam i företaget under senare delen av 1900-talet. Han kallades Pelle av de flesta, därav PELLEVÄVARE. Hur blir man en modern klassiker? Pellevävare tittar tillbaka på en lång tradition av textilt kunnande, men inspireras av det som ligger i tiden. Genom att vi lägger stor vikt på kvalitet, konstruktion och detaljer, kan vi lova att våra produkter åldras med stil. Under 2012 lanserade Pellevävare Modern Classics - ett helhetskoncept av textilier för hemmets alla rum. In 1893 the entrepreneur Alfred Johansson started a small weaving mill in the Swedish province of Västergötland. Two years later electricity was introduced to the village, and the company purchased its first typewriter. By the 1960 s the company had become a well known and respected producer of technically advanced textiles. The company was the first terrycloth producer in Scandinavia as well as the last when it closed down its production sites in Sweden in 2008. The name Pellevävare originates from the legendary textile entrepreneur and CEO of the 1960 s Per Almquist. He was known as Pelle among friends. The word vävare means weaver, ie. Pelle the Weaver. How do you become a modern classic? Pellevävare has a long tradition of textile expertise, but is inspired by contemporary trends and is always looking ahead. By paying close attention to quality, construction and detail, we ensure that our products will age in style. In 2012 Pellevävare launched a complete textile concept of Modern Classics for the home.

Welcome to Åre. The small town with a population of 1,500 lies in the shadow of Åreskutan, a mountain that rises over 1,000 metres above the valley and the lake, Åresjön. Åre has been known as a tourist destination for a hundred years. In the late nineteenth century it was a popular destination among the visitors who came during the summer to rest, experience the natural landscape and breathe the fresh mountain air. More recently the town has made a name for itself as Sweden s foremost winter sports centre, hosting the Alpine World Ski Championships 86 times. Today Åre has also attracted international attention thanks to the culinary experiences the town has to offer. The ski resort provides an impressive range of restaurants of a high international standard, even at a latitude of 63 degrees north. So what is it that impresses local residents? If locals are to be believed, it isn t about earning the most money but about spending their money on leisure and everything that makes life fun.
