Nytt fyrtårnsprosjekt for 2014-2017 «Innovativa nordiska välfärdslösningar» Fyrtornsprosjektet skal bidra till att stärka Norden som en innovativ och ledande region i världen inom områderna för hälsa, vård, omsorg och välfärd, och därigenom även skapa förutsättningar för en ökad export av välfärdslösningar. Detta fyrtornsprojekt är tänkt att främst omfatta utveckling av samverkandsmiljöer och behovsdriven innovation, till exempel genom offentlig upphandling. Projektet bygger delvis vidare på det tidligare fyrtornsprojektet Innovation i hälsosektorn genom offentlig upphandling och regleringar. Det nya fyrtornsprojektet skal leda fram till ny kunskap, nya verktyg och nya metoder för att främja innovation utifrån tydligt formulerade behov. För att ta vara på den innovationspotential som finns inom hälso-, sjukvårds och omsorgsområdet kan det också vara viktigt att skapa miljöer för att testa och utveckla behovsdrivna innovationer, så kallade innovationsslussar. Dessa erfarenheter bör beaktas då man inom ramen för fyrtornsprojekten i nära dialog med aktörerna utvecklar samverkansmiljöer och andra insatser.
