Swedish Armed Forces Policy document for IO Enabling Systems The Policy document for Interoperability Enabling Systems is the top-level document in the hierarchy of interoperability information. The top-level document s main purpose is to interpret the demands in SAF Development Plan 2007-2016 (Reference 8) and Outline Concept by Chief Joint Forces Development (Reference 3). Then in turn translate what communication enablers will be required for the SAF to carry out and set the policy for the operation and deployment for the prescribed missions.

Swedish Armed Forces Joint TDL/IFF/Vox/Txt CONOPS The CONOPS documents main role is to interpret the information and requirements detailed in the policy document for Interoperability Enabling Systems to an enabler level perspective. This interpretation will provide a translation from operational requirement to platform IERs for all the enablers. Platform requirements and IERs must be directly and strictly linked to the requirements set out in the policy document for Interoperability Enabling Systems (top level).
Utdrag från TDL CONOPS It is now Swedish defence policy that Link 16 will take primacy for future international operations During the timeframe of this CONOPS the baseline standard will be STANAG 5516 ed. 3, since this is the latest issue ratified by all NATO nations. A migration path towards MIL-STD 6016C for SAF platforms will be adopted in the long term to overcome legacy standard issues To be able to participate in distributed Interoperability testing SAF will implement STANAG 5602, Standard Interface for Multiple Platform Link Evaluation (SIMPLE) in all Link 16 platforms and test sites.
Platform Annexes The platform annex level of this suite of documentation, contain the detailed description of the employment and role of all IO enablers that will be used to carry out the described missions in the CONOPS. When a platform is brought into the IO mission requirement, a new annex will be written and described to this suite of documentation.
