Nordic Championship in Canoe polo 28th November at Fyrishov in Uppsala
Canoe polo Action games and great drama! Tackles are allowed! Two teams, two goals, one ball, all in the water, even with kayak and paddle a lot of physic! This sport will not pass anyone unnoticed. Canoe polo is a team sport. The players use their hands to pass the ball between each other and finally try to shout at the goal. It is a great opportunity to be able to tackle the person with the ball! The offence can be compared to basketball where you try to find open spots in the defence to be able to get close to the goal. Canoe polo is a game with a lot of speed and finesse where combination of canoe and team play is great. It is a lot of fight, action and physics play. Facts The pitch is 23*35 meter, the goal are 2 meter up in the air and is 1*1,5 meter. It s 5 players on the pitch per team and maximum 3 substitute. Playing time is 2*10 minutes with 3 minutes pause.
Nordic Canoe polo At the world championship 2010 both Sweden and Denmark s men ended top 12! Sweden 10 th and Denmark 12 th. Finland has earlier on done really well but has lately not been out playing internationally that much. Norway is the development country. This time it is the Nordic Championship for club teams that will compete. Sweden is dominated by the Isbrytarna (Icebreakers) from Luleå but the runner up Köping on the men side and Uppsala on the ladies side is always dangerous. The dark horse in the competition is Skovshoved that could be doing a lot of really great fights! This is only the second time the Nordic Championship is played and the first time the ladies class is played. Last year the winner was Silkeborg from Denmark after a very excited game and Luleå was the silver medallists and is now very determined to take revenge.
