DNV focus: - the difference from world wide trade. What are the Technical and Operational challenges when moving ship operation from World Wide to Arctic operation? What is the additional risk? What are the design criteria to be met? Slide 3
Aftonbladet, 23 nov 2007 Version Slide 4

The Ice Load Monitoring Project: Three year project, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Full instrumentation onboard coastguard vessel KV Svalbard Two successful expeditions in the Barents Sea, 2007 and 2008 Automatic data collection, web operated Data analysis shows good correlation between actual ice condition and load on hull Found useful at the bridge To be implemented as part of Ice Manoeuvre Simulator in Trondheim (SMSC) The project is the first to monitor the actual ice loads to be presented in real time at the bridge as a part of a decision support system. The system is ready to be installed onboard both new buildings and ships in operation. Slide 29
