CURRICULUM VITAE MARCH 2009 Dean, professor Mikael Alexandersson E-mail mikael.alexandersson@ped.gu.se Adress Department of Education and Didactics Faculty of Education University of Gothenburg Box 300, 405 30 Gothenburg, Sweden Telephone +4631-786 21 04, +4670-300 42 05 Born 6 July 1952 Research interests My research interests involve, on the one hand, the conditions of schools as a knowledge-generating practice for teacher, and, on the other hand, student learning via new media in this practice. Common to these interests are issues of how knowledge content is offered, transmitted to, and developed by both teachers and students. For example, this has involved research on matters of education policy involving control in schools, professionalization efforts in the teaching profession, and how students learn via new media and technologies. I am currently active in two projects: The Children of Immigrants in Schools (2006 2009) funded by the National Science Foundation, USA; and EXpertise, Authority and Control on the InterneT (EXACT): a study of the formation of source credibility in Web2.0 environments for learning funded by The Swedish Research Council. Teaching interests My teaching and supervision (primarily doctoral students) primarily concerns the issues I am researching. I also give regular lectures on research methods in general and phenomenography in particular, but also on learning processes in aesthetics.
