A seminar with an opponent. Preferrable that the opponent is not from the Department, holds a doctorate and is a qualified lecturer. The discussion should focus on what has been completed and give constructive critique on areas of the thesis which could be improved. 36 40 months (46 50 months of study at 80% employment) First pay month after a date for the Final Seminar has been booked and confirmed by the selected opponent. The opponent should have the manuscript at least 6 weeks before the Final Seminar.

Åtgärd: PA för Datateknik ska i förväg godkänna samtliga specifikationer för examensarbeten som ska genomföras inom ett annat huvudområde än datateknik för att säkerställa det datatekniska innehållet.
Oklar fördjupning och vetenskaplig grund Alla arbeten som uppvisar bristande kvalitet har gjorts av studenter som antingen har en oklar fördjupning eller har valt att fördjupa sig mot ämnen där skolan inte bedriver aktiv forskning. Det är/var möjligt för studenter att ta sig igenom programmet utan att få insikt i forskning och vetenskap. Åtgärder: Spåren i masterprogrammet i Datalogi struktureras fr.o.m. 2015 om så att de nära anknyter till minst en forskargrupp. Alla exjobbsuppgifter ska innehålla en beskrivning av deras koppling till vetenskaplig forskning vad i studentens tidigare utbildning som säkerställer tillräcklig områdeskunskap

FOVIAL: FOrensic VIdeo AnaLysis - finding out what really happened Recently growing amount of available surveillance video. Possible to gather evidence from surveillance video when investigating crimes or the causes of accidents: forensic video analysis. Forensic video investigations are now carried out manually. -Huge and very tedious effort; e.g., 60 000 hours of video in the Breivik investigation in Norway.
FOVIAL: FOrensic VIdeo AnaLysis - finding out what really happened Amount of data constantly growing in future investigations, it will no longer be possible to go through all the evidence manually. The solution: automate parts of the process. We propose to design a semi-automated forensic video analysis tool with a human in the loop. User chooses a certain event, e.g., a certain individual getting off a train, and the system returns all earlier observations of this individual, or all other instances of people getting off trains, or all the events that may have caused or are correlated with the given "person getting off train" event.

Multi-agent Multimodal Interaction Spatial attention in haptic and auditory simulations Applicants: Eva-Lotta Sallnäs Pysander and Roberto Bresin Funding: Swedish Research Council, 2014 2016 A basic form of human interaction is the physical cooperation that is needed to do a manual task together with another person. This kind of cooperative mechanical control is needed for tasks whose complexity may exceed the capacity of one individual. RQ: Does the superior temporal resolving capacity of the audio and haptic modalities enhance interaction in a multi-user setting, and can that give a real-time temporally distributed haptic and auditory focus of attention apart from a visual one? Aim: Study how the temporal resolving capacity of different combinations of modalities affects spatial attention, and communication patterns in multi-user settings. Method: Analysis by means of haptic motion tracking system, eye-tracking technology and content analysis.
