Transportation Headlines Road Opening Route 1 (Joplin to Bradys Hill) Ribbon Cutting took place Wednesday, June 6, 2012 Project finished on time and within budget Road is open to traffic 2

University Boulevard PPTA (Prince William Parkway to Sudley Manor Drive) University Boulevard design is pending VDOT approval Construction of the future Hornbaker Road northbound lanes are 40% complete R O W negotiations nearing completion for both University and Hornbaker Road Clearing and grubbing began on University Boulevard late June 2012 Clearing and grubbing nearing completion on Hornbaker Road southbound lanes Utility relocations activities ongoing Crossing of Williams (TRANSCO) Pipelines First major traffic shift for Hornbaker Road traffic in mid/late August 2012 Began roadway construction of University Boulevard early July 2012 Construction to be complete December 26, 2013 Clearing and grubbing is ongoing and is 65% complete Drainage is 75% complete Box culvert is 30% complete Grading is 33% complete 3

Prince William Parkway (Old Bridge Road to Minnieville Road) Preliminary Design/Build Plans completed by AMT Project to be financed through Bond funding and use of State Revenue Sharing funds RFP advertised February 2012 Received four offers R O W Impacts Utility relocation Negotiating with Branch Highways and RDA Award Design/Build contract September 2012 11

Rollins Ford Road Design for roadway extension has been submitted to VDOT for approval Project construction will include coordination of construction with park property Bridge costs Advertisement for construction for roadway extension anticipated for Summer/Fall 2012 12

Design Build Contract Awarded to Lane Construction on July 17, 2012 Contract Amount $37,685,000 Waterline Construction issues resolved Utility Relocation Notice to Proceed given July 2012 Substantial Completion Date Fall 2015 Final Completion Date Winter 2016 13

Minnieville Road Spriggs Rd. to Rte. 234 Three unsolicited design build proposals received for the project Selection committee rejected all PPTA proposals Issuance of RFP for project design Summer/Fall 2012 14

Mountain Road Improvements (Revenue Sharing/TRIP) (Bear Hollow Trail to Jackson Hollow Road) Notice to Proceed issued to Contractor Clearing and grubbing began June 28, 2012 and is 70% complete Roadway closed to through traffic on June 28, 2012 Traffic detour is in place and operational through August 27, 2012 Utility Relocations nearing completion Resident coordination Utility relocations Precast concrete Arch shop drawing approval, fabrication, and delivery Utilities were fully relocated in July 2012 Catharpin Creek stream diversion has begun Arch construction has begun Roadway construction has begun. Clearing and grubbing is complete. Anticipate roadway to be re opened to through traffic late August 2012 Substantial completion of project by mid November 2012 15

Logmill Road Improvements Preliminary plan design is in progress Project Day meeting with VDOT, JMT and PWC DOT held in November 2011 Meeting held with property owners concerning grade at Parnell Court JMT task order was closed (cannot use our open end tasks for Federal Projects) Profile to proceed with balanced cut and fill for optimum construction Dewberry task order was approved to complete design utilizing Federal funding. Possible temporary road closure and management of traffic during construction Intermediate plan submission scheduled for Fall 2012 Advertisement for construction in Spring 2013 Construction completion anticipated for Fall 2013 16

Hoadly Road Trail Spriggs Road to Dale Boulevard (TRIP) Task order plans to include retaining wall design completed. Borings completed in field for retaining wall design R O W and easement constraints Possible design waiver Retaining wall Plans submitted to VDOT in July 2012 Ready to start utility relocations 19

Gideon Drive Sidewalk Dale Blvd. to Opitz Blvd. (TRIP) Project Kick off/scoping meeting with VDOT, RDA and PWC DOT was held June 5, 2012 Task Order to RDA has been modified to accommodate use of Federal CMAQ funding on project for construction Preliminary design in progress R O W and easement constraints Utility Relocations Schedule will be determined when funding becomes available Project Day is scheduled for August 8, 2012 20

Glenkirk Road Sidewalk Project Kick off/scoping meeting with VDOT, Dewberry and PWC DOT was held May 16, 2012 Notice to Proceed with preliminary design was issued to Dewberry May 2012 Dewberry initiated the survey work Expedited construction schedule Project Day tentatively scheduled for September 2012 Advertise for construction Winter 2012/2013 21
