Success Story I Kund med mjukvaru- och hårdvarulösningar från Go Virtual Klassisk Design Process Krav Enkel Parametriserad geometri Design (CAD) Simulering (CAE) Produktion Förbättrad Design Process Krav Enkel Parametriserad geometri Simulering (CAE) Design (CAD) Verifierande Simulering (CAE) Produktion Denna kunds förändring av designprocessen ledde till en ökning av verkningsgrad från 81% till 87% för produkten i fråga. För att möjliggöra detta ökade mängden simuleringar.

Differences between Volume IT and HPC Volym IT Allusers of a particular system/application use it in a very similar way. Usage pattern is often predictable. Many users/server HPC Users may havedifferent needs and may use the same system/application differently. All users individual needs must be understood when designing the system. Many servers/user Use standard solutions for allusers. Standardise on as few systems and technologies for as many users as possible. Use standard components if possible. Design the system for its specific purpose Adapt interfaces to fit with IT infrastructure Virtualisation. Multiple applications may share onephysical server to lower hardware cost. Don t virtualise. Many servers are usually required to handle the workload from one application.
Differences between Volume IT and HPC Volume IT The IT Support Function is usually splittedin teams supporting application, database, infrastructure, etc. HPC Theuser workflow/process, the applications, and the infrastructure must all be understood to a certain level in order to provide support. A HPC team is recommended. Vendorsupport per hardwarecomponent (server, switch, os, etc) is sufficient. Asupport service also covering the behaviour of the entire system is recommended. Make sure to have clear interfaces to other systems. High support levels are common. High Availability solutions exists. A server failure may potentially impact many users. Low support levels are usual Aserver failure is not critical Adjust service level to what users need.
