SPINO // 1 Spino scandinavian sense
A modular sofa whose gently rounded lines inspire creativity in terms of shape and colour. Spino meanders gently but purposefully through a room and can be extended ad infinitum. A sofa without legs. Without front and back. With or without a backrest. The modules are linked together to create Spino a word borrowed from Esperanto that means backbone. The basic module is an ottoman, a stool that can be both convex and concave. To this you can add a wide or narrow backrest. Three simple components that together open up endless possibilities.
The prism-shaped modules are gracefully balanced and designed so that their shape gives them the stability they need. An open invitation from two directions to sit, chat or hold a brief meeting. MATSUMOTO / NAGANO
I wanted to create a sofa that can adapt in size and shape to different spaces according to the setting and the need. A base without legs, a design that is equally attractive viewed from the front or the back, and modular sections that can be linked together. The result is Spino, which means backbone in Esperanto. The individual modules come in a choice of colours and can be combined to create round sofas or shapes and seating solutions that fire the imagination. Spino sets your creativity free. Stefan Borselius, designer
