Earthing Cable Earthing cable is an insulated cable included in the earthing device used for connecting removable connectors (line clamps, earth clamps, earth connectors) to each other or with connecting clusters. Connecting Cluster The connecting cluster connecting short-circuiting cables with each other and with earthing cable or earth clamp. Fixed connection point Part of installation specially arranged for clamp connection (such as ball-bolt, hook, bow). Insulating pole An insulation pole is part of an operating pole consisting a hand grip section, a hand guard or hand limit marking and insulation section with misc. connection fittings for pole extension(s), clamps, or test devices. Insulating Section The insulating section is part of the insulating pole between the hand guard / handle limit marking and top fitting that keeps the operator at the required distance and with sufficient insulation while working on an installation. The length of the insulating section is determined by the rated voltage of the installation. Operating pole Operating pole is an insulating pole for working on a live installation or for bringing and connecting removable line clamps to lines or substations, for earthing or earthing and short-circuiting purposes. Earthing Pole Earthing pole is an insulating pole with permanently attached earthing device. Extension Pole Section The extension pole section is an extension of the insulating pole between the insulation section and the operating section in addition to the required length which, in design terms, is considered appropriate or is required by local usage conditions such as a large distance to the live section. Hand Guard The hand guard separates the insulating section from the hand grip section and comprises a ring-shaped disc. Its purpose is to prevent the slipping of the hands of the operator to the section that is designed to keep the operator at the required distance from the electrical installation. Single Pole Voltage Detector A single pole voltage detector is a test device for attachment to a single non-insulated line to detect whether the line is carrying operating voltage or not. Dual Pole Voltage Detector A dual pole voltage detector is a test device with two test electrodes for attachment between two points to detect whether the line is carrying operating voltage or not. V

Jordnings- och kortslutningsdon samt kontaktdon skall motstå största förväntade kortslutningsströmmar (Ik), för respektive elektrisk installation. Erforderlig donlin-area beror på maximal kortslutningsström Ik (amp) och maximal kortslutningstid Tk (s). Val av längsta tid för felström skall baseras på huvud- och reservskyddets utlösningstid samt brytarens bryttid. Diagrammet anger högsta tillåtna kortslutningsström som funktion av utlösningstid för jordningsdon med olika märkströmmar vid 1-sekundsprov. Vid längre kortslutningstider än provningstiderna beräknas den maximalt tillåtna kortslutningsströmmen ur: It = Ir tr/t gäller för t > t r It = max. kortslutningsström Ir = märkkorttidsström t = tid tr = märktid Om utlösningstiden understiger provningstiden 1-sekund får omräkning ej göras till högre ström än märkströmmen. Märkkorttidsström är den högsta korttidsström som jordningsverktygets klämmor och linor kan tillåtas utsättas för under en bestämd tid, t e x 1 sekund. Märkspänning är den högsta driftspänning som isolerstång kan tillåtas bli utsatt för. Earthing and short-circuiting devices and connection points shall withstand the greatest anticipated short-circuit current (Ik) for the respective electrical installation. The required cable cross section depends on the maximum short-circuit current Ik (amp) and the maximum short-circuit time Tk (s). The rated time must be greater than the maximum fault clearing time of the protection at the fault current. The fault clearing time is calculated as the sum of the protection relay operating time plus any auxiliary relay operating time plus the circuit breaker fault clearing time. The diagram shows the maximum permitted short-circuit current as a function of the tripping time for an earthing device with different rated currents during a 1 second test. Where the short-circuit times are longer than the test times, the maximum permitted short-circuit current is calculated from: It = Ir tr/t applies for t > tr It = max. short-circuit current Ir = rated short-time current (rated current) t = time tr = rated time If the tripping time is less than the test time of 1 second, a conversion shall not be made to a current higher than the rated current. Rated short-time current is the highest short-term current that the earthing tool s clamps and cable can be subjected to over a given time such as 1 second. VI

Märkvärde är ett storhetsvärde angivet på ett föremål, på dess märkskylt eller till föremålet hörande handlingar för uttryckande av föremålets egenskaper eller prestationsförmåga. Kortslutningsström är en överström orsakad av fel eller en felaktig förbindning i en elektrisk krets. Korttidsström är effektivvärdet av en växelström som flyter en angiven tid. Stötström är det högsta toppvärde, inklusive likströmskomponenten, av en kortslutningsström. Erfarenheten visar att kortslutningsdon måste vara enkla att handha. För att minska utrustningens vikt har valet av märkströmsvärden för jordningsdon baserats på att materialet termiskt utnyttjas så långt som kan anses rimligt med hänsyn till säkerheten. Vid dimensionering av jordningsdon gäller att strömtätheten med avseende på donets märkström ej får överstiga 0,23 / t ka / mm 2 för Cu-ledare där t = 1s (SS 428 91 01)=> I kmax =230 A / mm 2. Enligt EN 61230 och SS 428 91 01 skall jordningsutrustningen provas med en ström minst 15 % högre än erforderlig märkström, och stöt strömmen minst 2,5 gånger rms-värdet. Märkströmsvärdet verifierar kapaciteten på donlinorna, stötströmmen verifierar hållfastheten på klämmor och anslutningar. Kortslutningsprovning på Ragnar Stålskog AB jordningsutrustningar med kopparlina har utförts med värden enligt tabell nedan (SS 428 91 01): Rated voltage is the maximum operating voltage to which an insulating pole can be subjected. Rated peak current: Peak value of the highest current during the transient period following initial energizing of the circuit to which the earthing tool s clamps and cables are permitted to be subjected. The rated value is a magnitude stated on an object, on its rating sign or documents belonging to the object for expressing the object's properties or performance capacity. Short-circuit current is fault current caused by a fault or incorrect connection in an electric circuit. Short-time current is the RMS value of an alternating current that flows for a given time. Peak current: Peak value of the highest current during the transient period following initial energizing of the circuit. is the maximum peak value of a short-term current including the direct current component. Experience shows that short-circuiting devices must be easy to operate. In order to reduce weight, the choice of rated current values for earthing devices is based on the thermal properties of the material being used as far as is reasonably possible with regard to safety. When designing an earthing device, the current density with regard to the device s rated current shall not exceed 0.23 / t ka / mm2 for copper cables where t = 1s ( Swedish Standard SS 428 91 01)=> Ikmax=230 A/mm 2. According to EN 61230 and SS 428 91 01, the earthing equipment shall be tested with a current that is at least 15% higher than the required rated current and with a peak current that is 2.5 times the RMS value. The rated current value verifies the capacity of the cables while the peak current verifies the strength of the clamps and connections. En donlina kortare än 1,2 x avståndet mellan anslutningspunkterna kan leda till svårare förhållanden än de standardiserade provningarna och bör undvikas. För långa donlinor kan medföra oacceptabel spänning och onödigt häftiga rörelser. För jordningsverktyg avsedda enbart för nät med icke direktjordad nollpunkt kan donlina mellan grenstycke och jordklämma utföras med reducerad area. Vid val av parallellt monterade jordningsdon måste följande beaktas: 1/ Identiska linlängder och areor. 2/ Identiska anslutningar och anslutningspunkter. 3/ Donen placeras tätt intill varandra med linorna parallella. Som märkströmsvärden har för parallelljordningsdon valts värden lika med 90 % av dubblerade värdet för don med enkel donlina, enligt SS 428 91 01. The length of the short-circuiting cable shall be adapted to installation dimensions and distances between connecting points. A cable length less than 1,2 times of the distance between the connecting points may lead to more severe conditions than the standardized tests and shall be avoided. Too long short-circuiting cables will entail unacceptable voltage and unnecessarily severe movements. Earthing cables used on non-solidly earthed systems may have a cross-section less than the corresponding shortcircuiting cable or bars. The following must be considered when choosing parallelmounted earthing devices: 1/ Identical cable lengths and cross-sections. 2/ Identical connections and connection points. 3/ Devices located close to each other with the cables parallel. Rated current for parallel earthing devices have been chosen as 90% of the double value for devices with a single cable, according to SS 428 91 01. VIII

Produktkvalitet Allmänt Materialval och bearbetning av detaljer har en avgörande betydelse för verktygens funktion. Produkterna måste vara tillförlitliga även efter många års användning och i olika typer av miljöer. Ragnar Stålskog AB har genom lång erfarenhet erhållit en unik kompetens att utveckla och tillverka produkter inom elsäkerhetsområdet. Utrustningen från Ragnar Stålskog AB uppfyller de högsta kraven på tillförlitlighet, hanterbarhet och användarvänlighet. Utrustningen har genomgått mycket krävande typ prover och är testade och godkända enligt gällande normer. Tillverkning och utveckling av produkterna sker i Ragnar Stålskog AB:s fabrik i Upplands Väsby. Ett komplett set jordningsutrustning består av jordningsdon (ledarklämma, jordklämma, donlina), kontaktdon, gripsökare och manöverstång. Ledar- och jordklämmor samt kontaktdon Klämmornas/kontaktdonens ledande delar är utförda i högkvalitativa material såsom aluminiumbrons, aluminium, koppar och mässing. Klämmorna/kontaktdonen är i förekommande fall härdade och/eller ytbehandlade. För övriga detaljer används huvudsakligen rostfritt stål. Genom ett noggrant materialval och hög precision vid bearbetning av de ingående detaljerna erhålles en mycket säker funktion. Jordningsdon-/verktyg är försedda med täta kabelanslutningar vilket förhindrar fuktinträngning i linan. Donlinan (ESTPR) består av isolerad högflexibel kopparledare med tråddiameter 0,2 mm. Denna lina har kvar sin flexibilitet även vid mycket låga temperaturer och ger inga hälsovådliga eller korrosiva gaser vid eventuell upphettning. Anslutningen lina-kabelsko/ändhylsa uppfyller betydligt högre krav än gällande normer. Eget system för pressning av kabelanslutningar, utkragade kabelskor och en speciellt utvald lina gör att livslängden och serviceintervall för jordningsdonen/-verktygen förlängs då just dessa anslutningar är de känsligaste punkterna i ett verktyg (stora böj- och dragpåkänningar). Manöverstänger/Isolerstänger Manöverstänger/isolerstänger är tillverkade av glasfiberarmerad vinylester. Detta material har mycket goda isolationsegenskaper samtidigt som förhållandet mellan vikt-styrka och styvhet är utmärkta. En speciell produktionsmetod tillser att ytan är slät och eliminerar risken att glasfiberpartiklar vandrar ut ur stången, vilket annars orsakar olägenhet vid användande. Stängerna är genomfärgade och behöver ej lackas. Ett toppbeslag möjliggör att olika typer av tillbehör såsom gripsökare, momentdon, frånskiljarkrok, säkringshållare, verktygsfästen och spänningsprovare kan anslutas. Även förlängningsdelar anslutes till toppbeslaget. All utrustning är tydligt märkt med typnummer, aktuell standard mm. Product quality General Material selection and component design are critical factors regarding the functionality of the assemblies. The products must be reliable even after many years of usage and in different environments. Ragnar Stålskog AB has acquired unique expertise through its long involvement in the development and manufacture of products in the field of electrical safety. We have placed great emphasis on solutions which facilitate handling, extend service life and simplify servicing. The equipment has undergone extremely stringent type tests and is tested and approved according to current standards. Our products offer maximum performance thanks to the materials we choose to use and the ways in which they are processed. Manufacturing and product development are carried out at the Ragnar Stålskog AB plant in Upplands-Väsby, Sweden. A complete set of earthing equipment consists of Earthing Devices (Line clamp, Earth clamp, Earthing Cable), Contact Fitting, Operating Socket and Operating Pole. Line and Earth Clamps and Contact Fittings The conducting parts of the clamps/contact fittings are designed using high quality materials such as aluminium bronze, aluminium, copper and brass. The clamps/contact fittings are hardened and/or surface treated where appropriate. Stainless steel is mainly used for the other parts. Careful material selection and high precision when processing component parts ensures very safe operation. Earthing devices are equipped with sealed cable connections, which prevent humidity from penetrating the cable. The earthing cable is made of highly flexible copper strands of Ø 0.2 mm. Insulation is orange coloured ESTPR with specification marking every 0,5 m. This cable keeps its flexibility at very low temperatures and does not generate any poisonous or corrosive products when heated. The connection line-cable lug/end terminal conforms to significantly higher demands than current standards. Own system for crimping, cable lugs with collar and a specially selected cable mean that the life and service intervals on earthing devices are extended as these connections are especially exposed for large bending and tensile stress. Operating poles/insulating poles Operating poles/insulating poles are made of glass fibre reinforced polyvinyl ester. This material has excellent insulation characteristics at the same time as the relationship between weight-strength and rigidity is superb. A special production method ensures that the surface is smooth and that glass fibre particles cannot migrate to the surface of the pole, which otherwise would be an inconvenience to the user. The poles are coloured throughout and do not need to be varnished. A top fitting permits different types of accessories to be used such as operating socket, torque tool, disconnection hook, fuse holder, tool attachment and voltage detector. Extension sections are also connected to the top fitting. All equipment is clearly marked with type designation, current standard, etc. X
