2 WELCOME TO THE NINTH EDITION OF EMBEDDED CONFERENCE SCANDINAVIA Embedded Conference Scandinavia, ECS, är den naturliga mötesplatsen för forskare, leverantörer och användare av embeddedteknologi från hela Skandinavien. Varje år belyser ECS de mest aktuella och intressanta områdena inom embedded hålls ECS för nionde gången. Embedded Conference Scandinavia, ECS, is an annual event covering all aspects of design and trends in the world of embedded systems. Each year product vendors, researchers and industrial users share their experiences and present the latest technology at ECS. In 2014 it is time for the ninth edition of ECS. Flytten till Kista en succé! Efter sju år på Stockholmässan flyttade ECS till Kista för att komma närmre målgruppen. I Kista finns idag ca företag verksamma inom ICT. Resultatet blev 25% fler utställare och 50% fler besökare än året innan arrangerades även den parallella konferensen M2M Summit Scandinavia för första gången, även den mottogs varmt av både utställare och besökare. ECS består av en konferens i världsklass, en kompakt utställning med de senaste nyheterna inom embedded och det populära Embedded Dinner Party, en hejdundrande festkväll med middag, underhållning och prisutdelning av Swedish Embedded Award. ECS har genom åren blivit Skandinaviens viktigaste mötesplats för alla som jobbar med embeddedteknologi och ett mycket respekterat och uppskattat evenemang. Det senaste och hetaste från embeddedvärlden På ECS visas den senaste tekniken, högaktuell forskning presenteras och användarnas erfarenheter och framtida krav diskuteras. Internationell mötesplats ECS har genom åren vuxit och utvecklats till att bli ett ledande internationellt evenemang. En stor del av utställarna, över hälften av talarna och många besökare kommer från andra länder än Sverige. På ECS 2013 kom deltagare från 25 olika länder. Konferensspråket är engelska och ECS är idag en mötesplats där man skapar nya kontakter och träffar företag från hela världen. Rätt besökarmålgrupp ECS lockar embeddedproffs som är utvecklings- och produktchefer, projektledare, ingenjörer och konstruktörer. På ECS 2013 har 74% av besökarna angett att de ansvarar för eller rekommenderar inköp kom en stor andel besökare från världsföretag som Ericsson, Saab, ABB och Bombardier. Moving to Kista a great success! After seven years at Stockholmsmässan, ECS moved to Kista to be closer to its target market. In Kista there are today around 1,100 ICT related companies. The result was 25% more exhibitors and 50% more visitors than the previous year. In 2013 the parallel conference M2M Summit Scandinavia was also organized for the first time, which was also well received by exhibitors and visitors alike. ECS consists of a world class conference, a compact exhibition with the latest news from the embedded industry and the popular Embedded Dinner Party, a tremendous evening with dinner, entertainment and the award ceremony for the Swedish Embedded Award. ECS has over the years become the most important meeting place in Scandinavia for those working with embedded technology, and a much respected and appreciated event. The latest and best from the world of embedded At ECS the latest technology is shown, highly topical research is presented and users experiences and future requirements discussed. International platform Over the years ECS has grown and become a leading international platform for embedded professionals. A large part of the exhibitors, over half of the speakers and many visitors come from outside Sweden. Participants from 25 countries attended ECS The conference language is English. The right visitor target group ECS attracts embedded professionals who are development and product managers, management and design engineers as well as project managers. At ECS % of the visitors stated that they have approving or recommending purchasing authority. In 2013 a large group of visitors came from world leading companies such as Ericsson, Saab, ABB and Bombardier. 3 Pete Lomas from the Rasberry Pi Foundation, one of the keynote speakers at ECS 2013, has designed a piece of hardware that changed the landscape in low cost computing, especially in education and all its forms.
