ENG Thank you for choosing to purchase a product from Rusta! Read through the entire manual before installation and use! Masterline Gas Grill with 4 burners Read through the instructions carefully before mounting or using the grill. Save the user instructions for later use. USE The grill is a gas grill for outdoor use. Only liquefied petroleum gas may be used as fuel (does not apply to combination coal and gas grills). The grill is only intended for private use. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS The grill is only intended for outdoor use. Always place the grill and gas cylinder on a flat surface when using the grill. The grill may not be used in closed spaces due to risk of asphyxiation. Only use liquefied petroleum gas for the grill. Do not use charcoal, briquettes or other gas (does not apply to combination coal and gas grills). Do not use lava rocks. The grill is equipped with a manifold that creates an even heat distribution. The grill becomes hot when lit. Keep children and pets at a safe distance. Do not move the grill when it is lit or hot - wait until the grill has cooled. Let the grill cool before cleaning it. Use oven mitts and barbecue utensils to avoid burns when grilling. Do not use primers such as lighter fluid for gas or combination grills. Do not leave a lit or hot grill unattended. Make sure that flammable gases, liquids (such as gasoline, alcohol) and other flammable materials are placed a safe distance from the grill. The grill is only intended for making food. Never use the grill for purposes other than for which it is intended, for example, as a heat source or for heating objects. 2

The grill may only be used with an approved regulator kit. The hose and regulator must be tested for leaks before starting grilling. See the section Checking for leaks. Worn or damaged hoses must be replaced immediately. We recommend that the regulator kit be replaced every other year to ensure that the hose is in good condition. The grill is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or who have limited experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed in using the grill by someone responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the grill. The grill and gas cylinder must be connected to a CE-approved regulator and hose with operating pressure of 30 mbar. ENG TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL MOUNTING Read through the entire mounting instructions before mounting. Mount the grill on a clean and flat surface where there is no risk of parts flying off. Tighten all screws when all parts are completely mounted. This facilitates mounting and increases the grill s stability. Remove all parts from the packaging and sort them using the mounting instructions before mounting. If the grill is not complete after careful checking, please contact Rusta s Customer Service. ENG STEP 17 This grill has an electric lighter. Unscrew the electronic ignition button and place the battery in the holder according to the illustration. The battery is a AA/LR6 1.5 V. AA + BB L AA BB Screw M6x12 1 pc Locking washer M6 1 pc STEP 18 14

USE The grill is designed to be used with liquefied petroleum gas. The grill and gas cylinder must be connected to a CE-approved regulator and hose with operating pressure of 30 mbar. Using an improper regulator or hose is dangerous and can lead to personal injury. The hose must be a maximum of 1.5 m long. Worn or damaged hoses must be replaced. We recommend replacing the hose every other year. Contact the nearest Rusta warehouse for information on which regulator fits your gas cylinder and gas grill. GAS CYLINDER The gas cylinder must not be dropped or handled carelessly. If the grill is not used, the gas cylinder must be disconnected and the safety cap mounted. The gas cylinder must never be placed so that it is exposed to temperatures over 50 C. Therefore, do not place the gas cylinder directly under the grill. The gas cylinder must also never be placed or stored in places where there is a risk of fire or sparks, for example. Do not smoke in the immediate vicinity of the gas cylinder. It is prohibited to make any modifications to the gas cylinder. This can be fatal. CONNECTING THE GAS CYLINDER TO THE GRILL Make sure the gas cylinder s valve is closed. Connect the regulator s wing nut to the threads on the gas cylinder s valve. Tighten the wing nut by hand, do not use tools if they may damage the valve s seal. Connect the hose to the grill s connector. If the hose is difficult to put on, you can try putting a little soap on the hose. The hose must be connected to the grill s connector with a hose clamp. Make sure that the hose is not clogged, knotted or lying against any part of the grill other than the connector. Check for leaks in the gas cylinder, regulator, hose and grill before starting to grill. See the section Checking for leaks. CHECKING FOR LEAKS Mix 50% soap with 50% water. Make sure that the gas valve on the gas cylinder is closed and that the pinion on the grill is closed. Put a soap solution on the gas cylinder s valve, the regulator, the hose and the connector to the grill. Open the gas valve on the gas cylinder. If there are small bubbles in any of the previously mentioned parts, this means that there is a leak. Close the gas valve and tighten the hose connectors. Perform the test again. If there is still a leak, contact your Rusta warehouse. 15

ENG LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS With electric lighter button 1. Open the hood and make sure all the burners are closed. 2. Connect the regulator to the gas cylinder. Open the gas cylinder s valve to release the liquefied petroleum gas. 3. Press down on the knob on the grill and turn it counterclockwise to the MAX position. This releases the liquefied petroleum gas. 4. Push the ignition button to generate an ignition spark. 5. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to the off position and close the valve on the gas cylinder. Wait 3 minutes and then repeat steps 2, 3 and 4. 6. When the grill is lit, repeat step 3 for the grill s other burner. 7. Close the door on the grill and let the grill warm up to the desired temperature. 8. Turn the knob between MAX and MIN to adjust the heat. 9. To turn it off, turn the gas cylinder s valve to the closed position and then turn the knob on the grill clockwise to the off position. The battery will eventually need to be replaced. Replace with a AA/LR6 1.5 V battery. See step 17. With matches 1. Open the hood and make sure all the burners are closed. 2. Locate the flame observation hole on each side of the grill. 3. Take the match holder from the grill s right side. 4. Put a match in the match holder. Light the match and put it in one of the flame observation holes and hold it near the burner. If necessary, you can put the match through the grill rack and hold it under/in front of the manifolds of the burners in the middle. Turn the knob for the burner closest to the match to MAX. 5. Make sure the burner is lit. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to the off position and close the valve on the gas cylinder. Wait 3 minutes and then repeat step 4. 6. When the first burner has been lit, repeat step 4 for the grill s other burners. Matches 16

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Let the grill/grill parts cool completely before cleaning them. Make sure the fuel supply on the gas cylinder is closed. The must be thoroughly cleaned regularly. If the grill is used in excessively corrosive environments, such as on the beach, it is extra important that the grill be cleaned often. Salt and moisture usually break down the grill s protective outer surface, which can lead to surface rust. CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THE GRILL Wipe the outside of the grill with a soft sponge, a mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water and let it dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners. CLEANING THE INSIDE OF THE GRILL Remove the grill rack. Wipe the grill with a mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water and let it dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or oven cleaners. Before grilling, you can oil the grill rack with cooking oil so that the grill items do not stick. CLEANING THE BURNERS Remove the grill rack. Clean the burners with a soft brush or blow it clean with compressed air. Wipe with a cloth. Carefully clean the clogged openings with pipe cleaners and stiff wire (such as an open paper clip). Make sure there is no damage to the burners (cracks or holes). Replace the burner if damage is found. Reinstall the burners and make sure the gas valve s mouth piece is firmly in the right position in the burner tube. CLEANING THE GRILL RACK Do not use sharp objects to clean the grill rack, since its surface can be damaged. It is not necessary to clean the grill rack after each use. Let the grill burn at max power for about 5 minutes after grilling is finished and then remove the residue with a brush. Then wipe with paper towels. However, the grill rack must occasionally be carefully cleaned. Use mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water and let it dry. Before grilling, you can oil the grill rack with cooking oil so that the grill items do not stick. CLEANING THE DRIP TRAY (ONLY FOUND IN CERTAIN MODELS) Grease collects in the drip tray during grilling. Therefore, the drip tray must be cleaned regularly, preferably after each grilling. If the drip tray is not cleaned regularly, the grease may ignite during grilling. INFORMATION ON STAINLESS STEEL A common misconception about stainless steel is that it cannot oxidise, which is inaccurate. All steel can oxidise if the conditions for oxidation are right. However, stainless steel has a higher resistance to oxidation than non-stainless steel. This means that even stainless steel must be maintained to prevent oxidation and other corrosion. If not maintained, it is normal for the grill to suffer from so-called red oxide. This is considered normal and is not grounds for complaint. 17

ENG PROBLEM-SOLVING Problem Possible causes Action Burner does not ignite. Temperature of the BBQ is too low. Temperature of the BBQ is uneven. Intense flare ups. Valve on LPG cylinder is shut. Check the cables to the ignitor are connected correctly. 2. Check the ignitor at the side of the burner is approximately 2-3 mm from the edge of the burner and directed towards the burner. If the ignitor sits too far from the burner, there will be no spark when igniting. If the ignitor is too close to the burner, the spark can be too small to cause ignition. Clean burner and valves with pressurised air and pipe cleaner. Check the hole in the edge of the burner is not blocked by fat. Close the lid and turn the knob to high. 1. Check there are no leaks. See section checking for leaks. 2. Check the rubber washer on the LPG canister is intact. 3. Check there are no kinks in the gas hose. 4. Clean the burners. Shelter the BBQ from the wind. Clean burner and valves with pressurised air and pipe cleaner. Check the hole in the edge of the burner is not blocked by fat. When grilling fatty meat or marinated meat, flare ups can occur. Remove some of the fat and marinade from the meat before grilling. The BBQ must be cleaned after each use, see section cleaning and maintenance. If the BBQ is not cleaned after each use, fat will build up that can burst into uncontrolled flames. 18

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WHY IS THERE NO SEAL BETWEEN THE BURNER AND VALVE? Valve Gas Burner hose Oxygen To burn correctly, the LPG needs to be mixed with oxygen, this is done where the valve joins the burner. To avoid poor combustion, the joint must not be sealed. SHOULD MY BBQ HAVE A LAVA STONE? No. This BBQ has a heat distribution plate instead. WHAT IS THE PLATE ABOVE THE BURNERS FOR? This is the heat distribution plate that does the following: 1. Improves heat distribution in the BBQ. 2. Reduces flames that could otherwise flare up when grilling. 3. Increases the lifespan of the burners. 19

ENG CLEANING STAINLESS STEEL Start by wiping the surface with a damp cloth and a mild soap. The surface must be clean and free of dirt and grease. Dry with a dry cloth. If the grill has gotten surface rust, you can use a light polish, Autosol, on a cloth and polish the surface until the surface rust disappears. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. To protect the surface, you can spray a thin layer of 5-56 or WD-40, two universal remedies to loosen red oxide and protect against moisture. Apply the product with a cloth so that you have an even coat. NOTE! These products must not come in contact with the grill s painted surfaces or surfaces that come in contact with food. STORAGE When the grill is not in use, it should be protected from rain and contaminants under a grill door, this prevents contamination and surface rust. For long-term storage, for example, in the winter, the grill must first be carefully cleaned, dried and then stored under a grill door in a dry and dust-free environment. The gas cylinder must always be closed when the grill is not in use and disconnected before the grill is put in storage. SERVICE The grill should be inspected annually by a professional. 20

SE TIPS FÖR LYCKAD MONTERING Läs igenom hela monteringsanvisningen innan monteringer påbörjas. Montera grillen på ett rent, jämnt underlag där det inte finns risk att delar kommer bort. Dra åt alla skruvar först när alla delar är komplett monterade. Detta underlättar vid montering och höjer grillens stabilitet. ANVÄNDNING Grillen är konstruerad för att användas med gasol. Grillen och gasolflaskan ska kopplas ihop med CE-godkänd regulator och slang med drifttryck på 30 mbar. Användning av felaktigt regulator eller slang är farligt och kan leda till personskada. Slangen får vara max 1,5 m lång. Sliten eller skadad slang ska genast bytas ut. Kontakta närmaste Rusta-varuhus för information om vilken regulator som passar till gasolflaskan och din gasolgrill. GASOLFLASKA Gasolflaskan får inte tappas eller hanteras ovarsamt. Om grillen inte används ska gasolflaskan kopplas bort och skyddshatten återmonteras. Gasolflaskan får aldrig placeras så att den utsätts för temperaturer över 50 C. Placera därför inte gasolflaskan direkt under grillen. Gasolflaskan ska heller inte placeras eller förvaras på platser där exempelvis eld eller gnistor riskerar att uppstå. Rök inte i gasolflaskans omedelbara närhet. Det är inte tillåtet att göra egna konfigureringar av gasolflaskan. Detta kan medföra livsfara. ANSLUTNING AV GASOLFLASKAN TILL GRILLEN Kontrollera att gasolflaskans ventil är stängd. Anslut regulatorns vingmutter till gängan på gasolflaskans ventil. Dra åt vingmuttern för hand, använd inte verktyg eftersom det kan skada ventilens tätning. Vi rekommenderar att slangen byts ut vartannat år. Anslut slangen till grillens nippel. Om slangen är svår att få på kan du prova att pensla på lite såpa på slangen. Slangen ska fästas i grillens nippel med en slangklämma. Kontrollera att slangen inte är tilltäppt, har någon knut eller ligger mot en annan del av grillen än vid nippeln. Gör en läckagekontroll av gasolflaska, regulator, slang och grill innan grillningen påbörjas. Se avsnitt Kontroll av läckor. KONTROLL AV LÄCKOR Blanda 50% såpa med 50% vatten. Kontrollera att gasventilen på gasolflaskan är stängd och att vreden på grillen är avstängda. Pensla på såpalösningen på gasolflaskans ventil, regulatorn, slangen och anslutningen till grillen. Öppna gasventilen på gasolflaskan. Om det uppstår små bubblor på någon av tidigare nämnda delar, innebär det att det finns ett läckage. Stäng av gasventilen och dra åt slangkopplingarna. Gör testet igen. Om det fortfarande läcker, kontakta din Rusta-varuhus. 35

SE TÄNDINSTRUKTIONER Med elektronisk tändknapp 1. Öppna huven och se till att alla brännare är i avstängt läge. 2. Anslut regulatorn till gasolflaskan. Öppna gasolflaskans ventil för att släppa på gasolen. 3. Tryck in något av vreden på grillen och vrid moturs mot läge MAX. Detta släpper på gasolen. 4. Tryck in tändknappen för att generera en antändningsgnista. 5. Om brännaren inte tänds inom 5 sekunder, ska vredet vridas till avstängt läge och ventilen på gasolflaskan stängas. Vänta i 3 minuter och gör därefter om steg 2, 3 och 4. 6. När grillen är tänd, upprepa från steg 3 för grillens övriga brännare. 7. Stäng grillens lock och låt grillen komma upp i önskad temperatur. 8. Vrid på vredet mellan MAX och MIN för att justera värmen. 9. För att stänga av, vrid gasolflaskans ventil till avstängt läge och vrid sedan vreden på grillen medurs till avstängt läge. Batteriet kommer med tiden att behöva bytas. Byt till ett AA/LR6 1,5 V batteri. Se steg 17. Med tändsticka 1. Öppna huven och se till att alla brännare är i avstängt läge. 2. Lokalisera flammobservationshålen på vardera sida av grillen. 3. Ta fram tändstickshållaren från grillens högra sida. 4. Fäst en tändsticka i tändstickshållaren. Tänd tändstickan och för in den i något av flammobservationshålen och håll den nära brännaren. Om nödvändigt kan man föra in tändstickan genom grillgallret och hålla den framför/under värmefördelarna vid de mittersta brännarna. Vrid vredet för brännaren närmast tändstickan till MAX. 5. Kontrollera så att brännaren tänds. Om brännaren inte tänds inom 5 sekunder, ska vredet vridas till avstängt läge och ventilen på gasolflaskan stängas. Vänta i 3 minuter och gör därefter om steg 4. 6. När den första brännaren har tänds, gör om steg 4 för grillens övriga brännare. Tändsticka 36

RENGÖRING OCH UNDERHÅLL Låt grillen/grilldelarna kallna helt innan du rengör dem. Kontrollera att bränsletillförseln vid gasolflaskan är avstängd. Grillen ska regelbundet rengöras grundligt. Om grillen används i extra korrosiva miljöer, till exempel vid kusten, är det extra viktigt att grillen rengörs ofta. Salt och fukt kommer annars bryta ner grillens skyddande ytskikt, vilket kan leda till ytrost. RENGÖRING AV GRILLENS UTSIDA Tvätta grillens utsida med en mjuk svamp, ett milt diskmedel och vatten. Skölj med rent vatten och låt torka. Använd inte medel med slipverkan. RENGÖRING AV GRILLENS INSIDA Ta bort grillgallret. Tvätta grillen med ett milt diskmedel och vatten. Skölj med rent vatten och låt torka. Använd inte medel med slipverkan eller ugnsrengöringsmedel. Före grillningen kan man olja in grillgallren med matolja för att det som ska grillas inte fastnar. RENGÖRING AV BRÄNNARE Avlägsna grillgallren. Rengör brännarna med en mjuk borste eller blås rent med tryckluft. Torka av med en trasa. Rengör försiktigt tilltäppta öppningar med piprensare eller styv tråd (t ex ett öppnat gem). Kontrollera att det inte finns några skador på brännarna (sprickor eller hål). Byt ut brännaren om skador upptäcks. Återinstallera brännarna och kontrollera att gasventilernas munstycken sitter fast i rätt läge i brännarröret. RENGÖRING AV GRILLGALLER Använd inte vassa föremål för rengöring av grillgaller eftersom dess yta kan skadas. Det är inte nödvändigt att rengöra grillgallren efter varje användning. Låt grillen brinna på maxeffekt i cirka 5 minuter efter avslutad grillning och avlägsna därefter resterna med en borste. Torka sedan av med pappershanddukar. Emellanåt bör dock grillgallren rengöras noggrannare. Använd milt diskmedel och vatten. Skölj med rent vatten och låt torka. RENGÖRING AV DROPPLÅT (finns endast på vissa modeller) Vid grillning ansamlas fett på dropplåten. Därför ska dropplåten rengöras regelbundet, helst efter varje grillning. Om dropplåten inte rengörs regelbundet kan fettet antändas under grillning. INFORMATION OM ROSTFRITT STÅL En vanlig missuppfattning om rostfritt stål är att det inte kan oxidera, vilket är fel. Allt stål kan oxidera när förhållanden för oxidering är rätta. Rostfritt stål har däremot en högre motståndskraft mot oxidering än icke rostfritt stål. Det betyder att även rostfritt stål måste underhållas för att undvika oxidering och annan korrosion. Vanligast är att grillen, om den inte underhålls, kan drabbas av så kallad rödoxid. Detta anses normalt och är inte skäl för reklamation. 37

Kontrollera att kablarna till stiften är korrekt anslutna. 2. Kontrollera att stiftet vid sidan av brännaren sitter ungefär 2-3 mm ifrån brännarens kant och är riktad mot brännaren. Sitter stiftet för långt ifrån brännaren uppstår ingen gnista vid tändning. Sitter stiftet för nära brännaren kan gnistan bli för liten för antändning. Rengör brännare och ventiler med tryckluft och piprensare. Kontrollera så att hålen i brännarens kant inte är tilltäppta med fett. Stäng locket och ställ vreden på läge high. 1. Kontrollera att det inte läcker. Se avsnitt kontroll av läckor. 2. Kontrollera att gummipackningen på gasolflaskan är intakt. 3. Kontrollera att gasolslangen inte har några veck. 4. Rengör brännarna. Placera grillen i skydd från vind. Rengör brännare och ventiler med tryckluft och piprensare. Kontrollera så att hålen i brännarens kant inte är tilltäppta med fett. Vid grillning av fett kött eller kött i rikligt med marinad kan uppflammande lågor uppstå. Ta bort delar av fettet och marinaden från köttet innan grillning. Grillen måste kontinuerligt rengöras, se avsnitt rengöring och underhåll. Rengörs inte grillen kontinuerligt ansamlas fett som kan börja brinna okontrollerat. 38
