Types of towbars fixed, detach type 1 and ACS detach TYPE: 0 Fixed swan neck towbar The fixed towball is the most common towing bracket, the name swan neck comes from the design of the towball neck which resembles a swan neck. The towbar requires minimal maintenance and provides protection for the rear bumper. TYPE: 1 Horizontal detach towbar The horizontal detachable towball is a good compromise between the fixed and Vertical detach towball. It s design makes it easy to fit and remove. The towball is designed to fit directly into the fixed towbar bracket, in case one wishes to change type of towbar without having to remove the whole bracket. TYPE: 2 Vertical ACS detach towbar The ACS vertical detachable towball is Alexo s top of the line product. It offers very discrete design and often comes with a swiveling electrical socket. Detachable towbars are to be removed when not used for towing, a common result of not removing the towbar during longer periods of time is oxidation of the inner mechanical parts, which causes the towbar to stick to it s bracket. This is a direct result of mistreatment and is therefore not covered by the guarantee. The 5-year guarantee ensures the continuing functionality of the towbar during this time period. It is however required to have yearly checkups (free of charge at ATS reseller) in order for the guarantee to be valid. Each checkup must be documented below. 659-060x Fitting instructions 1. Dismantle the bumper and the metallic support it will be no longer needed. (Depending on the model) you have to remove the cover of ventilation grille (Because it could hit the towbar). 2. Fitting points change depends on the vehicle model: Points 1 and 4: Audi A3, Seat Altea, Sea Leon 2005-2010, VW Golf V, Golf VI, Skoda Yeti A3, Sportback 2007-2013, A3 Sedan 2013. Points 1 and 3: Seat Toledo 2004, Seat Altea XL, Seat Altea Free-track, Points 2 and 5: Audi A3 Sportback 2003-2007, VW Touran, Skoda Octavia 2004. Points 1 and 5: Skoda Octavia Familiar 2004 Skoda Octavia 2009, Scout 2009, Skoda Superb 2008 and Skoda Superb II Combi 2010, VW Jetta 2010. 3. When you find the fitting points place M10 nuts by the plates inside face using adhesive washers. 4. Introduce towbar through the chassis arms. 5. Fit towbar at fitting points using M10 bolts, flat washers and spring washers. 6. Tighten all the bolts according to the recommended tightening moments. (Retighten all the bolts after the first 1000 km of towing. 7. Depends on the model you will make a small cut at the bumper. Look at the drawing. 8. Replace the towbar. Monteringsanvisningar 1. När du hittar de passande brickorna placera M10 muttrar med plattorna inuti tillsammans med självhäftande brickor. 4. Introducera dragkrok genom chassits armar. 5. Montera dragkrok vid punkterna med M10 skruvar, platta brickor och fjäderbrickor. 6. Dra åt alla bultar i enlighet med de rekommenderade åtdragnings moment. (Dra åt alla skruvar efter de första 1000 km av bogsering. 7. Beroende på vilken modell så behöver man göra ett litet snitt på stötfångaren. Titta på ritningen. 8. Placera kroken

All Alexo towbars are CE-branded and approved for usage within the European Union. The towbar should be installed in accordance with the installation instructions. Installation should be carried out by an experienced mechanic. All fitting is performed under own risk and manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by fitting this towbar. Always observe national guidelines concerning official approval of extensions. Any alteration and/or conversion of the tow bar is prohibited and will result in the cancellation of the type approval. Remove insulating compound and/or underseal (if existing) from around the tow bar s mating surfaces on the vehicle. The tow bar is designed for towing trailers fitted with ball couplings and for use with load bearing implements approved for attachment to the tow bar. Any use other than the one specified is prohibited. If vehicles are fitted with a Parking Distance Control (PDC) system malfunctioning of the system can occur after tow bar installation since the parts (ball bar, ball coupling) could be located in the detection area of the sensors. In this case, the detection area should be readjusted or the PDC deactivated. Malfunctioning is not expected when using tow bars with detachable or pivoted ball bars if the ball bar is removed from its operating position. The towing hitch makes increased demands on the cooling system. Inquire at your contracted garage regarding any necessary reconstruction measures on the cooling system.
