1 SE Vanliga frågor om Progress 1.1 Hur förhindrar jag att brukaren går in i inställningar och ändrar? Ta bort funktionen "Gå till inställningar" på startsidan genom att gå in i inställningar och "Rensa knapp". För att nu kunna komma till inställningar måste man trycka på resetknappen för ipaq, se figur. För att rensa knapp följ sökväg: Inställningar Sidor/knappar Välj sida Välj sida där knappen finns som skall rensas Välj denna sida Redigera knapp Välj knapp som skall rensas Rensa knapp Rensa knapp 1.2 Jag tog bort funktionen "Gå till inställningar" på startsidan av misstag. Hur gör jag för att lägga tillbaka symbolen? För att nu kunna komma till inställningar måste man trycka på resetknappen för ipaq, se figur. Gå sedan till inställningar och lägg in funktionen "Gå till inställningar". 1.3 Det går inte att spela in en IR-kod. Hur gör jag för att lyckas? Kontrollera att avståndet är den rätta mellan Gewa Progress och fjärrkontrollen som skall spelas in ifrån. Se manual hur man ställer in rätt avstånd. Sändarna skall vara riktade mot varandra vid inspelning, front mot front. Kontrollera att batterierna i båda sändarna är fulladdade. Var inte i starkt solljus vid inspelning. Det finns två olika inspelningsmetoder, pröva båda. Se manual! Om ovanstående punkter inte hjälper, kontakta Gewa AB och meddela vilket fabrikat, typbeteckning och typ av apparat som inte går att spela in. 1.4 Progress hänger sig när jag lär in IR-koder. Det är viktigt att batteriet i Progress är bra laddat annars kan den hänga sig. 1.5 Hur tar jag bort ljudet på larmknappen? Om man inte tycker om ljudet på larmknappen så går det att ta bort ljudet enligt sökvägen. Det går också att spela in nytt ljud, se manual. För att få tillbaka originalljudet är det bara att lägga in larmfunktionen igen, se manual. För att ta bort ljud följ sökväg: Inställningar Sidor/knappar Välj sida Välj sida som ljudet skall tas bort ifrån. Välj denna sida Redigera knapp Välj knapp som ljudet skall tas bort ifrån. 1.6 Hur tar jag bort ljudet på larm när jag håller ner extern manöverknapp? Börja med att göra en backup på alla inställningar. Obs! Om inte detta görs först kan information gå förlorad. Se manual hur detta görs! För att ta bort ljud måste man ta bort en ljudfil som ligger i Windows CE. Obs! Om man skall skapa en ny larmknapp kommer den nya larmknappen inte att få något ljud. 1. Tryck på resetknappen längst bak på ipaq, se figur. 2. Tryck på Avsluta. 3. Gå in i filhanteraren. Följ sökvägen: My device\gewa\system\sounds och ta bort filen alarm.wav. Om man vill spara filen för att senare kunna lägga tillbaka den kan man döpa om filen till _alarm.wav. 4. Tryck på resetknappen längst bak på ipaq, se figur. Progress startar nu om. 1.7 Hur kan jag byta ljudet på larm när jag håller ner manöverkontakt? Ljudet måste vara en wav-fil. En wav-fil kan man spela in på sin PC, hitta på sin PC eller hitta på Internet. Storleken på filen bör inte överstiga 100kB och den måste döpas till alarm.wav. Obs! Om man skall skapa en ny larmknapp kommer den nya larmknappen att få det nya ljudet. De gamla kommer att ha kvar det gamla ljudet. Börja med att göra en backup på alla inställningar. Obs! Om inte detta görs först kan information gå förlorad. Se manual hur detta görs! För att ändra larmljud måste man byta ut en ljudfil som ligger i Windows CE. 1. Tryck på resetknappen längst bak på ipaq, se figur. 2. Tryck på Avsluta. 3. Gå in i filhanteraren. Följ sökvägen: My device\gewa\system\sounds och ersätt filen alarm.wav med den nya filen. Om man vill spara den gamla filen för att senare kunna lägga tillbaka den kan man döpa om filen till _alarm.wav. 4. Tryck på resetknappen längst bak på ipaq, enligt figur. 1.8 Det går inte att väcka upp bildskärmen med de 4 knapparna. Det har fungerat förut! Börja med att göra en backup på alla inställningar. OBS! Om inte detta görs först går information förlorad. Se manual hur detta görs! OBS! Egna bilder och exporterade sidor som används finns sparad i backup-filen men vill man använda dem på nytt och lägga in för en användare så kommer de inte att finnas kvar. Tryck in de två nedersta knapparna på ipaq och resetknappen (ipaq) samtidigt och håll nedtryckt i ca 15 sek, enligt figur. Skärmen blir nu svart. Tryck därefter en gång till på reset (ipaq). Progress startar nu om från början. 1.9 Progress har laddats ur helt och hållet och det hjälper inte hur mycket jag än laddar 1. Ta bort handdatorn ur Progress Module enligt figur. 2. Plocka ur batteriet ur handdatorn enligt figur och låt batteriet ligga ca en timme. 3. Sätt i batteriet igen i handdatorn och sätt sedan tillbaka handdatorn i Progress Module. 4. Anslut laddaren till Progress. 5. Tryck in de två nedersta knapparna på ipaq och resetknappen (ipaq) samtidigt och håll nedtryckt i ca 15 sek, se figur. Skärmen blir nu svart. Tryck därefter en gång till på reset (ipaq). Progress startar nu om från början. 6. Ladda nu tills batteriet är fullt. 6(20)

1.10 När jag ändrar sidnamnet så ändras inte texten på knappen. Det är bara namnet i biblioteket som ändras, ej namnet på knappen. För att ändra texten på knappen, se avsnitt Skriva in text på knapp i manualen. 1.11 Hur lägger jag in ett annat språk i Progress? Om språket finns översatt så kan filen fås från Gewa. Kontakta Gewa! Gör enligt följande för att lägga in filen i Progress: 1. Gör en säkerhetskopiering för att spara inställningar, se avsnitt i manual Säkerhetskopiering. 2. Ta bort handdatorn från Progress. 3. Installera ActiveSync som finns på medföljande CD. Se instruktion "Komma igång" från HP. 4. Anslut medföljande dockningsstation till USB eller serie-porten på persondatorn. 5. Sätt i handdatorn i dockningsstationen. Det kommer nu upp en installationshjälp som heter "New partnership". Välj "Guest partnership" här och klicka sedan på "Next". 6. Kopiera XML-filen för språket i persondatorn från det ställe där den sparades och klistra in den i handdatorn. Filen läggs i mappen "Languages". Sökväg: Mobile Device/My Pocket PC/Gewa/System/Languages. 7. Ta ur handdatorn ur dockningsstationen och sätt tillbaka den i Progress Module. 8. Gå till Inställningar och ändra språk. 9. Gör en ny säkerhetskopiering för att spara språket. 7(20)

1.12 Hur gör jag för att lägga in en ny version av Programmet? Gör enligt följande för att lägga in i en ny version i Progress: 1. Gör en säkerhetskopiering för att spara inställningar, se avsnitt i manual Säkerhetskopiering. 2. Ta bort handdatorn från Progress. Gör reset på handdatorn. Programmet startar nu om och går till windowsmiljö. 3. Installera ActiveSync som finns på medföljande CD. Se instruktion "Komma igång" från HP. 4. Anslut medföljande dockningsstation till USB eller serie-porten på persondatorn. 5. Sätt i handdatorn i dockningsstationen. Det kommer nu upp en installationshjälp som heter "New partnership". Välj "Guest partnership" här och klicka sedan på "Next" 6. Klicka på installationsfilen som du fått via e-mail eller tagit hem via Gewas webbsida. 7. Följ anvisningarna i installationsprogrammet. Svara "Ja" på frågorna om "reinstall/upgrade" och installation på "default application install directory". Nu förs det över information om installationen till handdatorn. 8. Efter överföringen kommer en dialogruta upp på handdatorn. Där skall man svara "OK" på frågan om "Re-install?". Efter det skall man svara "Yes To All" på frågan om "replace existing file?". Installationsfilerna förs nu över till minneskortet på handdatorn. 9. Ta ur handdatorn ur dockningsstationen och sätt tillbaka den i Progress Module. 10. Ta ur minneskortet och sätt i det igen. Uppdateringen startar nu. En dialogruta kommer nu upp på handdatorn. Där skall man svara "OK" på frågan om "Re-install?" Efter det skall man svara Yes To All" på frågan om "replace existing file?" Progress gör automatiskt en omstart efter installationen. 11. Verifiera uppdateringen genom att titta på versionsnumret som står högst upp på den sida man kommer till efter omstarten eller gå till "Inställningar/System/Version" ("Progress X.X.X"). 8(20)

1.13 Hur gör jag för att kopiera Backup-filen från Progress till en dator Det finns två sätt att kopiera filen. Alternativ 1 är att ansluta handdatorn som sitter i Progress till en persondator. Alternativ 2 är att via ett minneskort kopiera filen till Progress. Alternativ 1: 1. Gör en backup så att senaste inställningar är sparade på minneskortet. Låt minneskortet sitta kvar i handdatorn. 2. Ta bort handdatorn från Progress. 3. Installera ActiveSync som finns på medföljande CD. Se instruktion "Komma igång" från HP. 4. Anslut medföljande dockningsstation till USB eller serie-porten på persondatorn. Anslut samtidigt strömförsörjningen till dockningsstationen. 5. Sätt i handdatorn i dockningsstationen. Det kommer nu upp en installationshjälp som heter "New partnership". Välj "Guest partnership" här och klicka sedan på "Next" 6. Gå till utforskaren på persondatorn och kopiera filen Progress.xml. Sökväg: Mobile Device\My Pocket PC\Storage card\gewa\progress\backup\ 7. Ta ur handdatorn ur dockningsstationen och sätt tillbaka den i Progress Module. OBS! För att backup-filen skall fungera i Progress måste den heta Progress.xml. Alternativ 2: I alternativ 2 måste man ha en minneskortläsare. Minneskortläsare medföljer ej utan måste införskaffas separat. Läsaren måste klara SD-kort (Secure digital card). 1. Plocka ur minneskortet som sitter i Progress. 2. Sätt in minneskortet i minneskortläsaren som måste vara ansluten till persondatorn. 3. Gå till utforskaren på persondatorn och kopiera filen Progress.xml. Sökväg: Flyttbar disk:\gewa\progress\backup\ 4. Ta ur minneskortet och sätt tillbaka det i facket på Progress. OBS! För att backup-filen skall fungera i Progress måste den heta Progress.xml. 9(20)

1.14 Hur kan jag göra en backup till ett tomt minneskort? Anta att du har gjort backup till ett minneskort som medföljer till Progress. Du vill nu göra ytterligare en backup till ett tomt minneskort. Detta går inte att göra direkt utan att det tomma minneskortet förbereds. Rätt mappstruktur måste finnas på kortet. 1. Sätt i kortet i en minneskortläsare och skapa mapparna Gewa\Progress\Backup på minneskortet. 2. Sätt i minneskortet i Progress och gå till inställningar och gör en backup. Nu finns det en backupfil i mappen backup (Progress.XML). Ett annat sätt är att gå in i Win CE i Progress och skapa mapparna. Gör enligt följande: 1. Nollställ Progress (Reset ipaq). 2. Gå till inställningar och tryck på knappen Exit. Man kommer nu ut i Windows CE. 3. Sätt i det tomma minneskortet i Progress. 4. Gå till My Device\Storage card. 5. Lägg in mappstrukturen, Gewa\Progress\Backup. 6. Ta ut minneskortet och sätt i det ursprungliga minneskortet. Progress startar nu om. 7. Byt till minneskortet som du har lagt mappstrukturen på. 8. Gå till inställningar och gör en backup. Nu finns det en backupfil i mappen backup (Progress.XML). 10(20)

2 GB Frequently asked questions about Progress 2.1 How can I prevent the user to enter settings and make changes? Remove the function "Go to settings" on the start page by entering settings and "Clear button". To reach settings the reset button for ipaq must be pressed, see figure. Clear a button by the following procedure: Settings Pages/buttons Select page Select the page on which the button to be cleared is located Select this page Edit button Select the button that is to be cleared Clear button Clear button 2.2 I removed the function "Go to settings" on the start page by mistake. 2.3 It is not possible to record an IR code. How do I do to succeed? Check that the distance is correct between Gewa Progress and the remote control unit from which you are to record. See the manual how to determine the correct distance. The transmitters should be directed towards each other, front to front. Check that the batteries in both transmitters are fully charged. Do not record in intense sunlight. There are two different methods of recording, try both. See manual! If the actions above do not solve the problem, please contact Gewa AB with information about manufacturer, type and designation of the device from which it is not possible to record. 2.4 Progress gets locked when I teach IR-codes. It is important that the battery in Progress is fully charged or it might get locked. 2.5 How do I remove the sound on the alarm button? If you do not like the sound on the alarm button it is possible to remove the sound by following the procedure. It is also possible to record a new sound, see manual. To reinstall the original sound you just add the alarm function again, see manual. Press the reset button at the back of ipaq, see figure. 2. Press Exit. 3. Go to the file manager. Follow the path: My device\gewa\system\sounds and remove the file alarm.wav. If you want to save the file to be able to reinstall it later on, the file can be renamed to _alarm.wav. 4. Press the reset button at the back of ipaq, see figure. Progress now restarts. 2.7 How do I change the sound on the alarm when a control switch is held pressed? The sound must be a wav-file. A wav-file can be recorded on the PC, found on the PC or found on Internet. The size of the file should not exceed 100kB and it must be called alarm.wav. Note! If a new alarm button shall be created the new alarm button will get the new sound. The old one will keep the old sound. Start by making a back-up of all settings. Note! If this is not done first of all you may lose information. See manual how to proceed! To change the alarm sound a sound file in Windows CE must be exchanged. 1. Press the reset button at the back of the ipaq, see figure. 2. Press Exit. 3. Go to the file manager. Follow the path: My device\gewa\system\sounds and replace the file alarm.wav with the new file. Own images and exported pages that are used are saved in the back-up file but if you want to use them again and paste them in for one user they will no longer be available. Press the two lower buttons on ipaq and the reset button (ipaq) at the same time and hold pressed for approx. 15 sec., according to figure. The screen now turns black. Click once more on reset (ipaq). Progress now restarts. 2.9 The batteries in Progress have run down completely and it is not possible to charge again 1. Remove the Pocket-PC from Progress Module according to figure. 2. Remove the battery from the Pocket-PC according to figure and let the battery rest for approx. one hour. 3. Mount the battery into the Pocket-PC again and then insert the Pocket-PC into the Progress Module. 4. Connect the charger to Progress. 5. Press the two lower buttons on the Pocket-PC and the reset button at the same time and keep pressed for about 15 sec., see figure. The screen now turns 14(20)

black. Press once more on reset (ipaq). Progress now starts from the beginning. 6. Charge until the battery is fully loaded. 2.10 When I change the page name, the text on the button does not change. Only the name in the library changes, not the name of the button. To change the text on the button, see the section Writing text on a button. 2.11 How do I add another language to Progress? Please contact Gewa for information about the available languages. The file can be obtained from Gewa! Add a file in Progress by the following procedure: 1. Make a back-up copy in order to save the settings, see the section Making a back-up in the manual. 2. Remove the pocket-pc from Progress. 3. Install ActiveSync from the CD that was delivered with Progress. See the instructions from HP: Getting started. 4. Connect the accompanying docking station to a USB port or the serial port on the PC. 5. Place the pocket-pc into the docking station. An installation guide will appear called New partnership. Select "Guest partnership" and then click on "Next". 6. Copy the XML-file for the language from the location where it was stored in the PC and paste it into the pocket-pc. The file is placed into the folder "Languages". Path: Mobile Device/My Pocket PC/Gewa/System/Languages. 7. Remove the pocket PC from the docking station and replace it in the Progress Module. 8. Go to Settings and change language. 9. Make a new back-up copy in order to save the language. 15(20)

2.12 How do I do to add a new version of the Program? Add a new version in Progress by the following procedure: 1. Make a back-up copy in order to save the settings, see the section Making a back-up in the manual. 2. Remove the pocket-pc from Progress. Reset the pocket-pc. The program now restarts and enters Windows. 3. Install ActiveSync from the CD that was delivered with Progress. See the instructions from HP: Getting started. 4. Connect the accompanying docking station to a USB port or the serial port on the PC. 5. Place the pocket-pc into the docking station. An installation guide will appear called New partnership. Select Guest partnership and then click on Next. 6. Click on the installation file that you have received via e-mail or downloaded from Gewa s website. 7. Follow the instructions in the installation program. Answer Yes to the questions about reinstall/upgrade and installation on default application install directory. Now information about the installation is transferred to the pocket-pc. 8. After the transfer a dialogue box is shown on the pocket-pc. Answer OK to the question Reinstall?. Then answer Yes to All" to the question replace existing file?. The installation files are now transferred to the memory card on the pocket-pc. 9. Remove the pocket-pc from the docking station and put it back in the Progress Module. 10. Remove the memory card and put it back again. The update now starts. A dialogue box is shown on the pocket-pc. Answer OK to the question Reinstall? Then answer Yes to All to the question replace existing file? Progress automatically restarts after the installation. 11. Confirm the update by looking at the version number on the top of the page you reach after the restart or go to Settings/System/Version (Progress X.X.X.). 16(20)

2.13 How do I do to copy the Bac-kup file from Progress to a PC? There are two ways of copying the file. Alternative 1 is to connect the pocket- PC in Progress to a PC. Alternative 2 is to copy the file to Progress via a memory card. Alternative 1: 1. Make a back-up to save the last settings on the memory card. Leave the memory card in the pocket-pc 2. Remove the pocket-pc from Progress. 3. Install ActiveSync from the CD that was delivered with Progress. See the instructions from HP: "Getting Started". 4. Connect the accompanying docking station to a USB port or the serial port on the PC. Connect, at the same time, the power supply to the docking station. 5. Place the pocket-pc into the docking station. An installation guide will appear called "New partnership". Select "Guest partnership" and then click on "Next". 6. Go to the explorer on the PC and copy the file Progress.xml. Path: Mobile Device\My Pocket PC\Storage card\gewa\progress\backup\ 7. Remove the pocket-pc from the docking station and put it back in the Progress Module. NOTE! To work in Progress, the backup-file must be called Progress.xml. Alternative 2: Alternative 2 requires a reader for the memory card. This reader is not delivered with Progress; it must be purchased separately. The reader must be able to handle SD-cards (Secure digital card). 1. Remove the memory card from Progress. 2. Insert the memory card into the card reader, which must be connected to the PC. 3. Go to the explorer on the PC and copy the file Progress.xml. Path: Removable device: \Gewa\Progress\Backup\ 4. Remove the memory card and put it back in the compartment in Progress. NOTE! To work in Progress the backup-file must be called Progress.xml. 17(20)

2.14 How do I make a back-up to an empty memory card? Suppose you have made a back-up to a memory card that was delivered with Progress. Now you want to make another back-up to an empty memory card. This can only be done if the empty memory card has been prepared. The card must have the correct folder structure. 1. Insert the card into a memory card reader and create the folders Gewa\Progress\Back-up on the memory card. 2. Insert the memory card in Progress and go to settings and make a back-up. There is now a back-up file in the folder back-up (Progress.XML). Another way is to enter Win CE in Progress and create the folders. Do as follows: 1. Reset Progress (Reset ipaq). 2. Go to settings and press the button Exit. You will now enter Windows CE. 3. Insert the empty memory card into Progress. 4. Go to My Device\Storage card. 5. Add the folder structure, Gewa\Progress\Back-up. 6. Remove the memory card and insert the original memory card. Progress now restarts. 7. Exchange the memory card for the one to which you added the folder structure. 8. Go to settings and make a back-up. Now there is a back-up file in the folder back-up (Progress.XML). 18(20)
