Guide att testa hos Langford vet Här har jag skapat en liten guide för att förenkla för medlemmarna att testa sin katt hos langford. Medlemmar i bengalkatten har 20% rabatt på att testa hos dem. Koden får du i mailet, tappar du bort koden är det bara att maila till webmaster @bengalkatten.nu Hur man DNA-testar Det du behöver för att PK-testa din katt är en bomullspinne (. Märket som rekommenderas är Johnson & Johnson eller Qtip.) och tillgång till en skrivare. Dokument du måste skriva ut har jag bifogat och heter följande: Genetic_submission_form DEFRA_import_licence Declaration 1. Låt inte katten äta på minst 60 minuter (helst längre om möjligt) och låt inte katten tvätta någon annan katt innan du svabbar din katt för PK-def. Detta för att undvika felsvar. 2. Ta bomullspinnen i handen och för in den på insidan av kattens kind. Snurra på bomullspinnen några gånger för att de ska fastna DNA på huvudet. Låt bomullspinnen lufttorka i ca 1 minut. 3. Då bomullspinnen lufttorkat klipp av den ända du inte haft i kattens mun. (detta gäller langford) OBS var noga att inte själv ta i den svabbade delen med handen. 4. Lägg bomullspinnen i en plastpåse typ fryspåse och förslut påsen. Märk även kattens namn på påsen speciellt om man har flera katter 5. Betala för testet på deras sida http://www.langfordvets.co.uk/lab_genetics_pay.htm Glöm inte skriva in rabattkoden om du är medlem i tex bengalkatten. 5. Lägg plastpåsen med bomullspinnen, formuläret Genetic_submission_form (ifyllt och underskrivet) och bekräftelsen på betalningen. Skicka det till adressen som står på formuläret. På utsidan av kuvertet (täck ej adressen på framsidan) där ska du tejpa fast DEFRA_import_licence och Declaration (fyll i de som efterfrågas). Detta för att inte de ska fastna i tullen. Tejpa dem på varandra men lämna en kortsida och en långsida öppen då de ska kunna se båda papprena. Ta den med stämpel överst. Fäst en "Prioritaire"-etikett från posten på kuvertet och frankera.
Hur du fyller i formuläret Jag har fyllt i på svenska vad du ska fylla i under de olika fälten, är något oklart så hojta till=) Det jag inte fyllt i men som är lätt att förstå är kryssrutorna under infon om kattens namn. Du kryssar i de tester du är intresserad av: tex PK Deficiency (Pk-def) men vill du testa om din katt bär något av snöanlagen så är testerna Burmese colouration och Siamese colourpoint.
