Svenska Inledning Back Support IR II är utformad för att sättas fast på baksidan av en Future Pad. Back Support IR II har en inbyggd högtalare för att ge ett bättre och högre ljud. Den är försedd med en inbyggd IR-module vilket möjliggör styrning av TV, video, stereo mm. Mjukvara Progress Future Pad möjliggör detta. Back Support IR II har två ingångar för yttre manöverkontakter för styrning genom scanning. Progress Future Pad och The Grid kan styras med samma manöverkontakt. 4
Installation av programvara och drivrutiner För att undvika problem vid igångkörning av programvara och hårdvara är det viktigt att man följer installationsanvisningen. OBS! Börja med att installera programvaran innan Back Support ansluts till USB-porten. För att kunna installera programvaran Progress Future Pad och USB-drivrutiner erfordras en extern CD-enhet och dockningsstation. Gör enligt följande för att installera programvara och ansluta hårdvara: 1. Anslut Future Pad till dockningsstationen. Se till att den blir ordentligt ansluten! 2. Anslut strömförsörjning till dockningsstationen. 3. Starta igång Future Pad. 4. Anslut en extern CD-enhet till USB-porten på dockningsstationen. CD-enhet Dockningsstation Strömförsörjning 5. Sätt i CD-skivan Progress Future Pad i CD-enheten. Vänta tills en installationsguide visas på skärmen. Detta kan ta några sekunder. Om installationsguiden inte visas: Gå till Start-menyn, Välj Kör och skriv D:\setup (byt ut D om din CD-enhet har en annan beteckning). Klicka på OK. 6. Installera Progress Future Pad först. Följ installationsguiden. 7. Installera sedan USB-drivrutiner. Följ installationsguiden. 8. Anslut Back Support till USB-porten när instruktioner ges. Audiokontakten kan anslutas samtidigt. Låt Back Support ligga lös tills hela installationen är klar. Drivrutin för USB Serial installeras först och sedan installeras drivrutin för Serial Port. Obs! Välj att inte hämta drivrutiner från Windows update. Välj att installera automatiskt. Om drivrutiner inte hittas, ange sökväg till CD-skivan och mappen "Drivers". 5
9. Ta ur CD-skivan och koppla ifrån CD-enheten när installationen är klar. 10. Sätt fast Back Support på Future Pad med gummiskydden enligt bild. Audiokontakt USB-kontakt Skruv 6
Tips Minimera strömförbrukning Det finns inställningar i Windows som påverkar strömförbrukningen för Future Pad. Bildskärmen drar mest ström och bör stängas av så fort som Future Pad inte används. Hårddisken kan också stängas av efter en viss tid. Däremot får Future Pad inte gå ner i standby om man vill starta med yttre manöverkontakt. Använd ej heller skärmsläckaren. Inställningar för energisparfunktion ändras i Windows inställningar. Sökväg: Start\Control Panel\Display\Screen Saver\Power (nere till höger). Maximalt utrymme på bildskärm För att få mer utrymme på bildskärmen kan man ställa in så att Aktivitetsfältet automatiskt döljs, alltså raden längst ner i Windowsfönstret. Inställningar för aktivitetsfältet ändras i Windows inställningar. Sökväg: Start\Control Panel\Task Manager och Start meny. On/Off-knapp On/Off-knappen på Future Pad täcks av gummi. Gummit gör att den blir svårt att trycka in. För att minska ner tryckkraften kan man klippa bort gummit eller stansa ut runtomkring, se fig. 7
Inställningar i The Grid Back Support tilldelas automatiskt en Com-port vid installation. För att manöverkontakter och IR-modul skall fungera i The Grid måste man ställa in rätt Com-port. I Windows Enhetshanteraren kan man kontrollera vilken Comport The Grid har fått. The Grid har bara möjlighet att använda Com-port 4-10. Om Back Support har fått någon annan Com-port måste man ändra Com-port i Enhetshanteraren. 1. Kontrollera vilken Com-port Back Support har tilldelats. Sökväg: Start\Control Panel\System\Hardware\Device Manager. Klicka på "Portar (Com & LPT)" Kontrollera vilket nummer USB Serial Port har fått. Om den har nummer 4-10, gå direkt till punkt 2. Om den fått något annat nummer högerklicka på USB Serial Port och följ instruktionerna nedan för att ändra Com-port. Klicka på "Port Settings" Klicka på "Advanced" 8
Ändra Com-port till någon mellan 4-10 2. Ställa in Com-port för omgivningskontroll i The Grid Gå till The Grids startsida och högerklicka på en ruta. Klicka på "Visa övriga inställningar" och klicka sedan på "Omgivningskontroll" Klicka på "Välj Sändare" Välj samma Com-port som i Windows-inställningar och klicka "OK". 9
3. Ställa in Com-port för manöverkontakter i The Grid Gå tillbaka till The Grids startsida och högerklicka på en ruta. Klicka på menyn "Styrsätt" och välj "Inställningar kontakter". Klicka på "Kontaktanslutningar". Markera "Seriella kontakter" och välj "Com-port". Välj samma Com-port som i Windows inställningar. Klicka på "OK". 10

Manöverkontakter Två manöverkontakter kan anslutas för användning vid scanning. Anslutningskontakt skall vara 3,5 mm telepropp. Endast CE-märkta manöverkontakter får kopplas in. OBS! Future Pad går inte att väcka upp med manöverkontakter om datorn går ner i standby. Detta ändras i Windows inställningar. Sökväg: Start\Control panel\screen\screen saver\settings (nere till höger). Se "Tips för att minimera strömförbrukning" sid 7. Varning! Elektroder som fästes på huden eller invasibla manöverkontakter får ej anslutas till Future Pad. Högtalare/hörlurar Externa högtalare/hörlurar kan anslutas. Anslutningskontakter 3,5 mm telepropp. Ljudvolym för externa högtalare/hörlurar justeras i Windows-inställningar. Ljudvolym för den inbyggda högtalaren justeras med knapparna på Back Support men påverkas också av Windows-inställningar. Gör enligt följande för att ställa in en bra grundvolym i den inbyggda högtalaren i Back Support: 1. Gå till Windows-inställningar. Sökväg: Start\Control Panel\Sound and Sound devices. 2. Ställ volymen lågt i Windows-inställningar. 3. Ställ upp volymen på Back Support maximalt. Se bild sid. 11. 4. Testa ljudet i Back Support. 5. Öka volymen i Windows-inställningar tills ljudet är maximalt utan att det låter illa i högtalarna. Reläutgång Reläutgången kan användas för att påkalla uppmärksamhet, t.ex. en radiosändare som är ansluten. Anslutningskontakt 2,5 mm telepropp. Max belastning 120 ma, 24 V AC/DC. Spela in IR-koder För att kunna styra t.ex. TV, Video, Stereo, DVD, leksaker, lampor m.m. krävs att dessa apparater har en fjärrkontroll som sänder infrarött ljus (IR). En TV t.ex. har för det mesta en fjärrkontroll (IR) som används för att styra olika funktioner. Det är denna fjärrkontroll som ska användas för att lära in IR-koder. Andra apparater som t.ex. lampor, telefon, porttelefon och dörrautomatik har inte 12
någon sådan fjärrkontroll. Gewa har lösningar som gör det möjligt att även styra dessa apparater. GewaLink-kanaler 00-127 ligger fabriksinställda och kan användas för att styra Gewas egna produkter. Kontakta Gewa eller Gewas återförsäljare för mer information. När man spelar in en IR-kod används en minnesplats. Totalt 256 minnesplatser finns till förfogande. Inspelning Innan man börjar spela in en IR-kod skall man vara förvissad om att batterierna i fjärrkontrollen har full kapacitet. Vistas ej i starkt ljus vid inlärning (t.ex. solljus). För att få bra kvalité på den inspelade IR-koden behöver avståndet mellan fjärrkontrollen och sändarenheten vara rätt. Detta avstånd är olika för olika fjärrkontroller och bör därför kontrolleras innan man spelar in IR-koder från nya fjärrkontroller. När man spelar in skall enheterna vara placerade enligt figur. Det exakta förfarandet finns att läsa i manualen för Progress PC. IR-sändare riktas mot sensor vid inspelning av IR 13
Gewa Hållare Future Pad kan monteras på en böjlig arm (Gewa Hållare) för lätt inställning av höjd och vinkel. Snabbfäste gör det lätt att frigöra Future Pad och flytta den mellan olika platser. Gewa Hållare ingår ej, måste beställas separat. Snabbfäste Gewa Hållare Rengöring Innan rengöring skall laddare vara bortkopplad. Back Support görs rent med en mycket hårt urvriden trasa som doppats i vatten med lite diskmedel i. Efter rengöring torkas den med en torr trasa. Användningsmiljö Back Support är avsedd att användas inomhus i torr miljö. Återvinning av elavfall Back Support innehåller elektronik som skall återvinnas när produkten kasseras. Lämnas till miljöstation för elavfall. 14

English Introduction The Back Support IR II is designed to be mounted on the back of the Future Pad. The Back Support is equipped with a built-in loudspeaker for better and louder sound. It s equipped with an IR-module which provides control of TV, VCR, stereo a.s.o. The software Progress Future Pad makes this possible. The Back Support has two inputs for external control switches used for scanning control. Progress Future Pad and The Grid can be controlled by the same switch. 16
Installing software and drivers To avoid problems when starting software and hardware it is important to follow the installation instructions. Note! Always install the software before connecting Back Support to the USB port. To install the software Progress Future Pad and USB driver an external CD player and a docking station are required. Install software and hardware by the following procedure: 1. Connect the Future Pad to the docking station. Make sure it has been properly connected! 2. Connect power supply to the docking station. 3. Start the Future Pad. 4. Connect an external CD unit to the USB port on the docking station. CD unit Docking station Power supply 5. Insert the CD Progress Future Pad into the CD unit. Wait until an installation guide is shown on the screen. It might take a few seconds. If the installation guide is not shown: Go to Start-menu, Select Drive and write D:\setup (exchange D if the CD unit has another designation). Click OK. 6. Install the Progress Future Pad first. Follow the installation guide. 7. Install the USB drivers. Follow the installation guide. 8. Connect the Back Support to the USB port when instruction is given. The Audio plug can be connected at the same time. Do not fasten the Back Support until the installation is completed. The drivers for the USB Serial Converter will be installed first and then the driver for the USB Serial Port. Note! The option to search the drivers from Windows update shall not be selected. Choose to install 17
automatically. If the drivers are not found, specify the path to the CD and the folder "Drivers". 9. Remove the CD and disconnect the CD unit when the installation is completed. 10. Fasten the Back Support to the Future Pad with the rubber side protection, see figure below. Audio plug USB plug Screw 18
Tip Minimize current consumption Some settings in Windows affect the current consumption in the Future Pad. The screen consumes a lot of current and should be switched off as soon as the Future Pad is not in use. The hard disk can also be switched off after a certain time, but the Future Pad must not go down to standby if it is to be started by an external control switch. Do not use screen saver. Power settings are changed in Windows settings. Path: Start\Control Panel\Display\Screen Saver\Power (down to the right). Maximum space on the screen To obtain more space on the screen it is possible to make settings to automatically hide the Task Bar, i.e. the menu at the bottom of the window. The Task Bar Settings are to be changed in Windows settings. Path: Start\Control Panel\Task Manager and Start menu. On/Off-button The On/Off-button on the Future Pad is covered by rubber. This makes it difficult to press the button. To reduce the pressure force the rubber can be cut off or punched around the button, see figure. 19
Settings in The Grid The Back Support is automatically provided with a Com-port when installed. If the control switches and the IR-module are to work in The Grid, the correct Com-port must be set. In Windows Device Manager it is possible to check with which Com-port The Grid has been provided. The Grid can only use the Comports 4-10. If the Back Support has got another Com-port it must be changed in the Device Manager. 1. Check with which Com-port the Back Support has been provided. Path: Start\Control Panel\System\Hardware\Device Manager. Click on "Ports (Com & LPT)" Check which number the USB Serial Port has got. If it has a number between 4-10, go directly to point 2. Otherwise right click on the USB Serial Port and follow the instructions below to change the Comport. Click on "Port Settings" Click on "Advanced" 20

Click on "Show Advanced Options" and then click on "Environment control" Click on "Select Device" Select the same Com-port as in Windows-settings and click "OK". 21

Select "Serial switches" and select "Com-port". Select the same Com-port as in Windows settings. Click on "OK". 22

Control switches Two control switches can be connected when using scanning. The attachment plug should be a 3,5 mm jack plug. No other than CE-marked control switches shall be connected. Note! It is not possible to start the Future Pad by control switches if the computer is in standby position. To change this, go to Windows settings. Path: Start\Control panel\screen\screen saver\settings (down to the right). See "Tip to minimize current consumption" page 19. Warning! Electrodes that are attached to the skin or invasible switches must not be connected to the Future Pad. External speaker/earphones External speakers/earphones can be connected. Attachment plugs 3,5 mm jack plug. The volume for external speakers/earphones shall be adjusted in Windowssettings. The volume on the built-in speaker is adjusted by the buttons on the Back Support but is also affected by the Windows settings. Set a good basic volume in the built-in speaker on the Back Support by the following procedure: 1. Go to Windows settings: Path: Start\Control Panel\Sound and Sound devices. 2. Set the volume low in Windows settings. 3. Turn up the volume to a maximum in the Back Support. See picture page 23. 4. Test the sound in Back Support. 5. Increase the volume in Windows settings until the sound is at a maximum and there is no distortion on the speakers. Relay output The relay output can be used to call attention, e.g. a connected radio transmitter. Attachment switch 2,5 mm jack plug. Max load 120 ma, 24 V AC/DC. Recording IR codes To be able to control a TV, for example, or a Video, Stereo, DVD, toys, lamps etc. These devices must have a remote control unit that emits infrared light (IR). Most TVs have a remote control unit that is used to control various functions. It is this remote control unit that is to be used to teach IR codes. Other devices 24
such as lamps, telephone, hall telephone and door opener do not have any remote control unit. Gewa have solutions that makes it possible to control also these devices. GewaLink-kanaler 00-127 are default and can be used to control Gewa s own products. Please contact Gewa or Gewa s Gewas representatives for more information. One memory location is used for each IR code that is recorded. There are 256 memory locations available. Recording Before starting to record IR codes, ensure that the batteries in the remote control have full capacity. Do not place the devices in bright light (such as sunlight) during the learning procedure. In order to obtain good results when recording IR codes the distance between the remote control unit and the transmitting unit must be correct. This distance differs from one remote control to another and thus you should check the distance before recording new IR codes from the remote control unit. When recording the units should be placed according to the figure below. How to proceed exactly is described in the software manual. The IR transmitter is directed to the sensor when recording IR 25
Gewa Holder The Future Pad can be mounted on a flexible arm (Gewa Holder). Easily adjusted both in height and angle. A rapid attachment makes it easy to detach the Future Pad and move it to different locations. Gewa Holder is not included, it must be ordered separately. Rapid attachement Gewa Holder Cleaning Before cleaning the charger must be disconnected. The Back Support can be cleaned with a damp cloth (weak solution of washing up liquid). After cleaning, wipe with a dry cloth. Environment conditions Back Support is to be used indoors in a dry environment. Recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Back Support contains electronic components that must be recycled. When the product is disposed of, hand it in to a recycling centre for waste electrical of electrical and electronic equipment. 26
