(e9 02-4348) This kit can be installed on most passenger cars or commercial vehicles, including vehicles that have: A digitally controlled light system with mixed voltages. This device cannot be used on vehicles with reverse polarity (positive goes to the chassis or body) or in vehicles with battery voltages other than +12 V. The ATC module prevents any failure or overload, and is designed to connect power directly from the vehicle battery or alternator, avoiding possible failures in the vehicle control unit. This product has a 2 year guarantee against possible manufacturing defects. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse or incorrect installation, such as reverse polarity or subjecting this kit to voltages other than those specified in this manual. Installationsanvisning 1. Innan du påbörjar installationen läs igenom hela installationsmanualen noggrant och kontrollera att samtliga komponenter finns med. Notera att användning av snabbklips är ej fackmannamässigt, Vi rekommenderar lödning av alla kontakter, senare i manualen finner du hur man skapar täta och säkra kontakter på ett korrekt vis. 2. Ström till ATC-modulen måste härledas från en individuell strömkälla såsom bilens 12v batteri eller generator. Säkringshållaren skall alltid placeras så nära strömkällan som möjligt. 3. Montera kontaktdonet (7-pol eller 13-pol) i kontakthållaren på dragkroken och härled kabeln in i bilen så att denna kan kopplas in i ATC-modulen. 4. Koppla in den vita jordkabeln till en jordad punkt i bilen, var noggrann med att ytan är renskrapad och att det inte finns olja eller färg som kan orsaka dålig kontakt. 5. Koppla in signalkablarna till bilens baklampor enligt schemat på sida 8 och 9. 6. Elkabelsatsen har en extra 3-ledad kabel (grön, brun, blå) som kan användas vid förlängning av signalkablarna till bilens andra baklampa. I detta fallet byter du ut de befintliga pinsen (grön, brun, blå) mot de nya med samma färgkod, är kabeln för kort, använd kabeln markerad med x. 7. Koppla in den 6-ledade kabeln i den 8-poliga kontaktdonet enligt diagrammen. 8. Fäst ATC-modulen med hjälp av den medföljande självhäftande tejpen på insidan av bagaget. 9. Koppla in strömkontakten tillsammans med säkringshållaren och fäst slutligen säkring i hållaren och kontrollera att allt är inkopplat och fungerar.

Installation instructions 1. Before you begin, read the installation instructions carefully and check if all components are supplied. The use of quick-connectors (supplied) is not recommended, but rather the use of soldiering, please see instructions regarding this later on in the manual. 2. The circuit has to be supplied from an independent power point on the car using sections that are suited to the maximum consumption of the trailer and always placing the fuse holder as close as possible to the battery or power source. 3. Place the socket holder (7 PIN) (13 PIN) on the socket holder of the tow bar and run the 7-wire cable to the inside of the vehicle in order to connect with the module. 4. Connect the white earth wire with the terminal to a ground point in the vehicle; make sure the connection is clean and free of grease or paint. 5. Connect the signal cables to the rear lights according to diagrams on page 8 and 9. 6. This wiring kit has an additional 3-wire cable (2,3m) (green, brown, blue) in case there has to be made a connection on the other side of the vehicle. In this case remove the 3 pins (green, brown, blue) in the 7 pin socket and replace them by the long wire placing the colours on the same position. If the cable is too short, then use cable «X» 7. Connect the 6-wire cable in the 8 pin socket attached to the vehicle according to the diagram. 8. Attach the module with the self-adhesive part to the vehicle. 9. Bring the fuse (15A) in the fuse holder; attach this one to the red cable connected to the power source. Check if everything is connected.

Vid mätning registrerar en lägre ström (ca 3V) när endast bakljus är aktivt som sedan ökar (ca 13V) när bromsen aktiveras. I detta fallet koppla endast in den röda kabeln från ATC-modulen, brun och svart kabel isoleras. Om differansen är för liten mellan strömstyrkan kan man alternativt koppla den röda kabeln till broms-signalen (den multiplexa kabeln) och sedan brun och svart tillsammans ihopkopplade till en annan strömkälla som registrerar >+12V, till exempel registreringsskyltbelysningen. Multiplex systems Multiplexed system: When two functions operate within the same cable, for example brake light and rear light. When measuring a lower current is registered (approx. 3V) when only the rear light is active, this increases (approx. 13V) when the brake is applied. In this case connect only the red cable from the ATC-module, the brown and black cables are isolated. If the difference between voltages is minimal one could connect in an alternative way, here you only connect the red cable to the brake signal (multiplex cable) and the brown and black cables tgether to another >+12V ssource, for example the registration-plate light.

Undantag C2 (Trasig lamp-indikation) De avancerade ATC-modulerna har en funktion som känner av när en glödlampa är trasig och avger då ett pipljud för att notifiera föraren om problemet. Om en lampa på släpvagnen är trasig bryter ATC-modulen strömmen till denna och ersätter den med en fungerande lampfunktion. Till exempel om bromsbelysningen är trasig kommer blinkers att användas istället vid inbromsning. FRÅNKOPPLING AV PDC ELLER PARKTRONIC Frånkoppling av PDC eller parktronic sker genom brytning av strömmen till ljudenheten eller till PDC modulen. ATC-modulen har två kablar avsedda för PDC som skall kopplas in enligt diagrammet till höger, dessa kablar bryter strömmen när fordonet läggs i back-läge. Enheten känner av om en släpvagn är inkopplad och aktiveras EJ om ingen släpvagnskontakt är inkopplad. Dimljus koppling ATC-modulen erbjuder två alternativ till inkoppling av dimbakljus(gäller endast advanced): 1. Dimbakljs aktiveras genom positiv signal. 2. Aktivering genom jordning. I detta fallet måste man ta den blå kabeln ur sin ordinarie position och flytta den till det sista lediga stiftet i höljet. För att aktivera dimbakljuset i detta fallet krävs att back-ljus är inkopplat sedan tidigare. Option 1 Option 2

Undantag FRÅNKOPPLING AV DIMBAKLJUS ATC-modulen (advanced) erbjuder automatisk frånkoppling av dimbakljus. Installation sker enligt diagrammen nedan. Vid installation av båda dimbakljusen måste kontroll göras att inga felmeddelanden skapas i fordonet. Fog light switch Switching two foglights VIKTIGT» Innan installationen påbörjas, kontrollera noggrant att samtliga lampor i bilen fungerar korrekt och att det inte finns några felmeddelanden.» Vid installation av kablage är det viktigt att vara extra försiktig så jordning inte sker genom kontakt med andra kablar eller med bilens chassie, detta kan skada ATCmodulen och orsaka felmeddelanden i fordonet.» Vid slutlig kontroll av elsatsen använd enbart godkänd testutrustning från Alexo eller en korrekt kopplad släpvagn.» Under inga omständigheter får max strömuttaget överstiga 15V.» Max effekt för enheten är 6A.» Total max effekt är 15A.» Rekommenderad arbetstemperatur är -20º a 50º.» Placera ATC-modulen i ett torrt och säkert förvar baktill i bilen.» Samtliga elsatser från ATC är testade och CE-märkta. Installation skall ske fackmannamässigt.

Special cases C2 (WARNING LAMP FAILURE) The advanced ATC-module detects a lamp failure of a flashing light or sidelight by emitting a warning beep, in case of the flashing light the sound signal is transmitted on the frequence of the flashing light, in case of the sidelights you each time hear the sound signal for some time when you turn on the lights. If a lamp on the flashing light of the trailer has a failure, the function is replaced by the lamp of the sidelight. DISCONNECTION OF THE PDC OR PARKTRONIC Disconnection of the PDC or Parktronic will be performed by disconnecting the buzzer or removing the power supply from the vehicle module, for which the module provides two contacts opening when the trailer is attached and the vehicle is in the reverse gear. When the power supply is removed from the module, there has to be checked if there are no other functions connected to the module. FOG LIGHT CONNECTION The ATC kit offers two options to connect the fog light (only for ATC advanced): 1. Normal fog light activation by positive signal. 2. Activation of the latter by earth. In this case, you have to take the blue cable out of its housing from the input side using a punch or scissors tips, and place it in the last housing that was empty. To activate the output in this case the parking light must be connected beforehand. Option 1 Option 2

Special cases VEHICLE FOG LIGHT DISCONNECTION If switching both the fog lights, it will be necessary for both the installer and the user to check that the socket and the trailer connections match. Since the device switches loads, it must be checked for compatibility and to make sure that no fault messages occur during this. Fog light switch Switching two foglights IMPORTANT» Before starting installation make sure all lighting functions of the vehicle function properly and that no fault messages are displayed.» When installing cables, make sure you do not earth these by coming in contact with other cables or with vehicle chassis. This can cause malfunction and harm to the ECU.» When testing the installation, only use appropriate testers supplied by Alexo or a fully working trailer with no short-circuit or overload in the cables.» Remember not to exceed the maximum working voltage of 15V.» The maximum power of outputs is 6A» The maximum (total) current must not exceed 15A» Working temperature -20º a 50º.» Make sure the ATC-module is placed in a dry and safe place» The ATC-Advanced Trailer Control module has CE-approval, however, always check with your country s national requirements regarding light functions of trailer prior to installation.
