Module 1. Introduction, 1,5 ECTS - on a basic level be familiar with working in group and the practice of working with working life issues Introduction to the study programme and to university studies, study techniques and group project educational methodology. Presentation of mentor enterprises/organizations. Information about what personnel work implies. Module 2. Organization and Human Resource Management, 7,5 ECTS - to present a general understanding of different organizational models - understand the development of different main organizational theory schools and their development as well as an understanding of the conditions for development of these schools - demonstrate knowledge of different leadership theories and models and how these models differ - understand the preconditions for developing sustainable organisations taking into consideration the importance of ethical and pluralistic factors This module is meant to constitute an introduction to the study programme of Human Resource Management. The purpose is to let the student get into contact with organization and personnel issues in a comprehensive and introductory way. Through this introduction the student will be given certain basic cognitive abilities but also a more general idea of what organization management and development/dynamics may imply. Module 3. Introduction to Methodology, 7,5 ECTS - on a basic level understand social and behavioural science research and investigation methods and statistics, as well as elemenatary science theory - prove insight into basic theoretical knowledge of the behavioural science field with emphasis on staff and working life issues An orientation of principles and applications within social science research. The basics of qualitative and quantitative data collection, adaptation and analysis and practical application through laboratory work. Elementary science theory and scientific method with application to knowledge and research of working life in a historical, social group and individual perspective. Module 4. Sociology, 7,5 ECTS - understand and discuss organizations of industry and commerce, as well as the labour market development and function - broadly discuss and explain the relationship between and the 2

Assessment of the student achievements is carried out through written and/or oral tests or through a combination of such tests and current examination as well as through handing in of solutions of trainee work cases. For students who haven t passed at the ordinary examination occasion a renewed test will be arranged in close connection to the ordinary test. Type of grades The grades are Pass with Distinction, Pass or Fail. On module 1, only the grade Pass is awarded.
