3 LEDARSIDAN Äntligen slut på semestern ÄNTLIGEN HÖSTKONFERENS! Hösten är här, och detta innebär givetvis Data3 s årliga höstkonferens! I år har vi lagt fokus på utvecklingsspåren, och bjudit in några av de främsta på området. Vi hoppas nå en ny publik på utvecklingssidan som vi misstänker i många fall sitter och utvecklar hemma på kammaren med gammalt tänk, och som inte uppmärksammat all modernisering som skett under de senaste åren inom RPG, Java, PHP mm. Med nya verktyg och tekniker skulle jag inte bli förvånad om du sparar in minst 25 % av din utvecklingstid direkt efter konferensen! Jag vill passa på att framföra ett stort tack till programgruppen som på sin lediga tid inte bara fått ihop programmet, utan även all hantering av logistik och planering bakom kulisserna. Vi är mycket tacksamma för alla talare och utställare som ställer upp och vi känner att detta är ett mycket starkt program med många stora namn inom i. Vi välkomnar alla idéer på förbättringar, och kan du tänka dig hjälpa till med nästa års konferens är du varmt välkommen! Väl mött på HK2011! Förutom alla pass finns massor med annat att hämta. Jag vet med säkerhet att alla partners, utställare, IBM are och medlemmar gärna delar med sig av sina erfarenheter och åsikter (både bra och dåliga..) He writes extensively and teaches IBM classes worldwide on all areas of IBM i communications, single signon, encryption, compliance, and security. From September 1999, he was assigned for three years to the IBM ITSO in Rochester, MN. In his 28 years with IBM he has held various technical positions. He has over 20 years of experience in OS/400 (now IBM i) networking, systems management, and security. Currently, Thomas works in customer projects mainly in the areas of SSO, encryption, security assessments, and compliance. Har under senaste året arbetat med virtualisering för System i och stött implementering hos några av de stora System i kunderna i Sverige Stuart Bray, Advisory Software Services Specialist - Product Services IBM i Global Support Center (igsc) - Communications Team Stuart Bray has worked in IBM i Software Support since joining IBM back in 1994 (back in the days when an AS/400 was still an AS/400!). He started off working on PC Support/400 (which later became Client Access/400) and later added Comms, Save/Restore, AS/400 Printing and OS/Work Management skills to his portfolio. He also dabbled with AIX support for a time and was team lead for the UK/Ireland Midrange Support team (i and p series software support) before joining the IBM i Global Support Centre a year ago when the UK/ Ireland support moved from country level support to being supported by the Global team centred in Rochester, Minnesota, the home of the AS/400. He now works in the COM (TCP and SNA support) team and is also the team lead for the Prime EMEA shift providing support for Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Ireland customers. He is immensely proud of his Prime EMEA team which is gathered from 4 Data3 #205

Björn Danielson, Business Manager, Cybernetics Björn Danielson jobbar idag på Cybernetics som Business Manager inom Business Intelligence och CRM. Han har arbetat med Business Intelligence sedan mitten av 1990-talet och genom sitt team infört Business Intelligence lösningar baserat på WebFOCUS / WebQuery. Björn har hjälpt en mängd företag med att ge verksamheten tillgång till strukturerad information genom DataWarehouse samt ge ögonblicksbilder genom realtidsdata. Gunnar Elmgren, SYSteam Blue AB Gunnar Elmgren har drygt 30 års erfarenhet som systemtekniker. Efter 20 år på IBM, där han arbetade som supporttekniker med inriktning på S/34, S/36, S/38 och AS/400-iSeries, började han för 10 år sedan på SYSteam där han fortsatt fokusera på teknikfrågor med IBM i som bas. Gunnar finns på SYSteam Blue AB, som är IBM Business Partner för Power Systems och Systems Storage-produkter. Susan Gantner, Susan s career has spanned over 24 years in the field of application development. She began as a programmer developing applications for corporations in Atlanta, Georgia, working with a variety of hardware and software platforms. She joined IBM in 1985 and quickly developed a close association with the Rochester laboratory during the development of the AS/400 system. Susan worked in Rochester, Minnesota for 5 years in the AS/400 Technical Support Center. She later moved to the IBM Toronto Software Laboratory to provide technical support for programming languages and AD tools on the AS/400. Susan left IBM in 1999 to devote more time to teaching and consulting.her primary emphasis is on enabling customers to take advantage of the latest programming and database technologies on OS/400. Susan is a regular speaker at COMMON conferences and other technical conferences around the world and holds a number of Speaker Excellence medals from COMMON. Susan is a Technical Editor with IBM Systems Magazine. Lillemor Gillberg, IBM Lillemor behöver egentligen ingen presentation. Välkänd som IBM-representant. Välkänd som talare från många Data3 konferenser men hon började med System 3 för mer än 30 år sedan det var dåtidens System i. Lite långsammare, inte ett dugg interaktiva, dom gick på hålkort. 80 kolumner per kort. Första lektionerna från Lillemor kom redan då, gå över till 96 kolumner och spara plats. Så kom då de första disketterna, 20 cm breda och vägde 40 gram. Svalde nästan motsvarande en låda hålkort som vägde kilon. I denna miljö började Lillemors idoga arbete, från hålkort till dagens blixtsnabba IBM Power. Vägen hit har varit System 32, System 34, System 36, System 38, IBM PC, AS/400 och nu IBM Power med alla dess funktioner. Passionen för alla dessa system till den nya IBM Power håller i sig även om favoritområdena förändras. Ett tag var det Cisc till Risc, sedan Y2K, LPAR, Linux på IBM Power och nu hårdvaru HA. Martin is also CEO of Comprendo ApS that is a classic advertising company - located under the same roof as System & Method. The payoff has been clearly visible. The combined companies has under Martins leadership, produced unique web solutions like PadForm for IBM i where the usability matches the front end of the ipad - and the core matches the power of IBM i. Jimi Inge, Lead Service Architect IBM Power, Tieto Jimi Inge jobbar idag på Tieto som Lead Service Architect med IBM Power som huvudområde. Han har arbetat med IBM Power i plattformen sedan 1990-talet. Jimi har förutom bred kompetens inom infrastuktur även stort fokus på tjänstebaserad leverans bl.a. moln och kapacitetstjänster utsågs han till årets IBM Power konsult av IBM Svenska AB. Pete is currently the manager of the igsc s System Analytics team. This team s primary mission is to provide technical assistance on some of the most complex issues across the firmware/hardware space on the Power Systems product-line. Additionally, Pete is the Project Lead for the initiative to consolidate the traditional Level1/Level2 support structure for i software in the Nordics into a single combined support team managed out of Rochester. Niels Liisberg, Chief SW Architect, System & Method Niels Liisberg is an Software Architect and developer with over 20 years of professional experience on IBM i (AS/400). Niels primary areas of expertise are architecture, design, development and deployment of applications focused on bringing IBM i on the Web. It was Niels that masterminded development of the web tools; IceBreak and IceCap. Niels was also deeply involved in the development of the BlueSeries product line that has been marketed worldwide. He has been selected as one of The Worlds Greatest Business Mentors. As an entertainer: Randall s talents as a magician, ventriloquist, and clown contribute to his ability to captivate audiences in many settings -- including MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Walt Disney World and The White House. He has made televised appearances internationally and has been featured on major network broadcasts. Randall has won 30 national and international entertainment awards, and his likeness has been displayed in the Clown Hall of Fame and the Smithsonian Institution. Jon Paris, Jon s IBM midrange career started when he fell in love with the System/38 while working as a consultant. This love affair ultimately led him to joining IBM. In 1987, Jon was hired by the IBM Toronto Laboratory to work on the S/36 and S/38 COBOL compilers. Subsequently Jon became involved with the AS/400 and in particular COBOL/400. In early 1989 Jon was transferred to the Languages Architecture and Planning Group, with particular responsibility for the COBOL and RPG languages. There he played a major role in the definition of the new RPG IV language and in promoting its use with IBM Business Partners and Users. He was also heavily involved in producing educational and other support materials and services related to other AS/400 programming languages and development tools, such as CODE/400 and VisualAge for RPG. Jon left IBM in 1998 to focus on developing and delivering education focused on enhancing AS/400 and iseries application development skills. Jon is a frequent speaker at User Groups meetings and conferences around the world, and holds a number of speaker excellence awards from COMMON. Jon is a Technical Editor with IBM Systems Magazine. He is a member of the executive team of IBM Nordic. Mr Sandell joined IBM in 1983 and has worked in most business areas of IBM. He has a broad experience of the ICT Industry, working with customers within some of IBM s key industry segments. He has gained an extensive international experience having worked 13 years abroad in EMEA and the Nordics in various leadership positions in sales, services and business management. Mr Sandell graduated from the Helsinki Swedish School of Economics and holds a Master of Science degree in Economics. His military rank is lieutenant in the Finnish Navy (reserve). He is married and has two daughters and a son. Mr Sandell is a Finnish citizen. Gottfried Schimunek, IBM Rochester Gottfried Schimunek is a Senior IT Architect with IBM and has been taking a lead role in application and product development projects for over 25 years. Currently he is the Program Manager and Technical Consultant for IBM i on IBM Power Systems in the ISV Business Strategy and Enablement team in Rochester, Minnesota. His primary interests are performance measurement analysis and capacity planning of applications. Alain Senocq, CeeServices AB Fransman bosatt i Sverige sedan Konstfackutbildad som verkat inom teater- och filmbranschen. Mina intressen förutom Powermiljön kretsar kring design, musicerande, motorcyklar, huset på landet, familjen och goda vänner. Var med i teamet som, 1976, startade datoriseringen av Svensk Filmindustri:s biografer (SFBIO). Har från och med det året arbetat med hela OS400 linjen, S36, S38, AS400, Iseries, Power i, och varit systemansvarig för SFBio:s biljettsystem fram till Konsult hos Systeam mellan 2007 och Arbetar nu med ICE projektet (International Copyright Enterprise) där både ny mjukvara och plattform utvecklats för att kunna hantera musikrättigheterna på europeisk nivå. Ett samarbete mellan Stim i Sverige och deras motsvarighet i både England och Danmark. Tyngdpunkten i projektet är, för egen del, att ansvara för både drift och utveckling av Power plattformen med realtidsreplikering mellan huvudmiljön i Stockholm och fjärrmiljöer i London och Köpenhamn. Miljön består idag av 3 produktions partitioner på 3 geografiskt spridda platser samt 3 test/utvecklingsmiljöer som ska hållas i sync. Förutom traditionell OS400 med RPG som programspråk samt SQL innefattar projektet också PHP och MySQL, API kopplingar mot andra miljöer. Source miljön i Stockholm är en partitionerad Power7 server, IASP med disk i både IBM DS8100 och 5100 storage system samt Flashcopy teknik för backup av Produktionsmiljön under drift. Realtidsreplikeringen sker med hjälp av en produkt från MaxAva (tidigare NoMAX), en produkt som jag gärna demonstrerar om intresset finns. Min presentation kommer att bestå av en detaljerad redovisning av hur vi installerade SugarCRM produkten i power miljö. SugarCRM är en opensource produkt som bygger på PHP och som normalt lagrar data i MySQL databaser. i vårt fall har vi (förstås) valt att istället låta miljön använda sig av en IBMDB2i motor som gör att databaserna hamnar som DB2 databaser i power servern. Syftet med detta är att kunna accessa data inifrån SugarCRM:s standard applikation (PHP kod) och samtidigt kunna nå samma data direkt från egna RPG program, SQL, WebQuery, m.m Målet är att vi bibehåller ett gemensamt regelverk när det gäller backup, säkerhetsdesign med mera och ökar möjligheterna att nå samma data från dessa olika miljöer inom en och samma platform. Frank Soltis, Common Europe Frank Gerald Soltis (born 1940), an American computer scientist, was IBM s Chief Scientist for the System i computers. Based on his Ph.D. research, his pioneering architecture of technology-independent machine interface (TIMI) and single-level store has appeared in these eight generations of IBM hardware: System/38 in 1978, the CISC AS/400 in 1988, the RISC AS/400 in 1995, the web server AS/400e in 1999 (supporting HTTP and TCP/IP), the eserver iseries, the System i5, the System i, and Power Systems running i (April, 2008). In 1968, Soltis completed his PhD in electrical engineering from Iowa State University.[1] His PhD dissertation was titled Automatic Allocation of Digital Computer Storage Resources for Time-sharing In November 1968, he took a position with IBM in Rochester, Minnesota. Soltis led the design of the Amazon instruction set architecture, an extended version of the 64-bit PowerPC architecture; the Amazon architecture is implemented by the RS64, POWER4, and POWER5 processors used in the IBM iseries and pseries computers. As of 2008, in addition to his IBM responsibilities, Soltis was an adjunct professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Minnesota where he teaches graduate courses on high performance computer design. [3][4] Soltis retired from IBM on December 31, 2008 In February 2009, Vision Solutions, a leading high availability and disaster recovery solutions provider in IBM Power Systems markets, announced Dr. Frank Soltis has joined the Vision Solutions Technology Advisory Board (VTAB). 16 SÄKERHET Lösenord i klartext Du är väl medveten om att som standard skickas lösenord och information i klartext när Telnet-5250 används. Jag rekommenderar därför att du aktiverar SSL för dina Telnet-5250 sessioner. Det första som måste göras är att hämta hem ett servercertifikat eller alternativt skapa ett självsignerat certifikat som din Telnet-server tilldelas. Nackdelen med ett självsignerat certifikat är att utgivaren automatiskt listas som icke betrodd för klienterna. Du måste därför distribuera ut din interna Certificate Authority certifikat (CA-certifikat) med vilket du signerade server certifikatet, till alla dina användare. Användarna måste acceptera certifikatet som betrott och importera CA-certifikatet till en nyckeldatabasfil i IBM Personal Communication, IBM System i Access eller till en certifikatsmapp i Windows beroende på vad användaren valt att använda för lagring av sina certifikat. Om du har kommunikation med någon extern part rekommenderas att ni båda använder certifikat signerade av någon godkänd Certificate Authority (CA), t.ex. VeriSign, Thawte, DigiCert, etc. Dels för att veta att företaget är det företag som det utger sig för att vara och dels för att slippa byta och distribuera CA-certifikat mellan varandra. För att hantera certifikat på IBM i används Digital Certificate Manager (5770-SS1 option 34). Själva tilldelningen av servercertifikatet till Telnetservern görs också med Digital Certificate Manager. Hur Digital Certificate Manager används kommer jag att beskriva i en framtida artikel. Du måste starta om Telnet-servern för att ändringen ska gälla. 20 KRÖNIKA Efter att ha arbetat med identitetsfederering i ganska många år förvånas jag fortfarande över beteendet organisationer i mellan. Vi både vill och inte vill samverka. Ofta är utgångspunkten: Skall vi samverka så skall det ske helt efter mina villkor. Många gånger har tankarna förflyttas till den privata sfären seende mig själv studera barnen som leker, kanske i en sandlåda. Leken blir oftast som bäst ner man ger och tar. Barnet som på egen hand bestämmer villkoren och som dikterar kraven för leken blir rätt ofta sist kvar i sandlådan. Och efter en stund blir förvånad över att de övriga barnen hittat en annan arena för en betydligt fruktsammare lek. Identitetsfederering handlar kort och gott om att använda befintliga infrastrukturer för elegitimering, dvs identifiering och autentisering. Den som producerar e-tjänster har i stor omfattning ännu inte uppfattat fördelarna med identitetsfederering. Flertalet tänker fortfarande i termer av egna lösningar för e-legitimering. Lösningar som allt som ofta är enormt kostnadsdrivande. I en identitetsfederation är det i princip bara tre förmågor som krävs, förmågan att kravställa ett identitetsintyg att i tillräcklig grad lita på utfärdaren av identitetsintyget att konsumera ett identitetsintyg. Det två förstnämnda förmågorna brukar vara förvånansvärt svåra. Jag har full respekt för tillitsfrågan, men jag har betydligt svårare att förstå att den som har en e-tjänst inte kan tydliggöra vad e-tjänsten behöver veta om användaren Tillitsnivån är en knäckfråga, oavsett identitetsfederationer eller ej, och den måste var och en ha respekt för samtidigt som viljan måste finnas att flytta positionerna framåt. Initiativ som Kantara, Stork, ISO (kommande standard 29115), NIST (NSTIC) med flera bidrar och för ovanlighetens skull så verkar de i stort sett i samma riktning. NSTIC (National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace) är det projekt som uppskattningsvis omgärdas av mest resurser och har den högsta hastigheten. Målet är ett fungerande tillitsramverk för ekosystemet av identiteteter. Alla initiativ som bidrar till ett tydligt ramverk utan några säkerhetsmässiga avkall och som värnar om öppenhet samt inte motverkar användandet av öppna standards välkomnas. Tyvärr infinner sig en oroskänsla att de starkare krafterna som verkar på den svenska arenan i alltför stor utsträckning önskar lösningar som bidrar med nya inlåsningseffekter likt eid2008, infratjänsten och nya påfund till förenkling vilket knappast leder i en riktning där det skall vara så enkelt som möjligt för så många som möjligt. 20 Data3 #205
